Fever vs Sparks Predictions, Picks, Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

Rickea Jackson's gong to take a back seat to the Clark vs. Brink storyline tonight, but our WNBA picks still think the Sparks' other rookie can take advantage of a porous Fever defense.

WNBA bettors get a battle between the top two picks in the loaded 2024 draft class when Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever visit Cameron Brink and the Los Angeles Spark tonight.

Clark the Fever are still searching for their first win of the year (0-5 SU and 3-2 ATS), and the WNBA odds believe that victory will come in L.A. with Indiana installed as a road favorite. Los Angeles is 1-2 SU to start the season (1-1-1 ATS), defending home court in a win over Washington on Tuesday.

My Fever vs. Sparks prediction sizes up why Rickea Jackson's impact could be on the rise, as I give my best WNBA picks on May 24.

Fever vs Sparks predictions

My best bet
Rickea Jackson Over 9.5 points (-130 at bet365)

My analysis

Overshadowed by the “Caitlin Clark vs. Cameron Brink” storyline is No. 4 pick Rickea Jackson.

Jackson is starting to get more run, logging 31 minutes of floor time off the bench in the win over Washington earlier this week. She finished that game going 4-for-8 for nine points on the heels of 13 points in 22 minutes against Las Vegas last week. She logged only 18 minutes and scored seven points in the Sparks' season opener.

There’s a great shot to make the most of that bump in minutes tonight, facing a Fever defense ranked dead last in the WNBA. Indiana lugs a defensive rating of 113.9 into La-La Land, allowing foes to average almost 92 points on 44.8% shooting.

Player projections for Jackson sit north of 12 points over an estimated 24 minutes. Should she get closer to 30 minutes, like last game, the Tennessee star has a ceiling just shy of 16 points.

WNBA player props are very low on Jackson’s scoring output with some books as short as 9.5 (Over -130) and other shops at 10.5 (Over -114). Given a tempered scoring forecast, the Over 9.5 should be priced as high as -233.

Caitlin Clark odds, prop for tonight

My best bet
Caitlin Clark Under 5.5 rebounds (-115 at BetRivers)

My analysis

Tracking the Caitlin Clark odds has been fun in her first few games, with WNBA player prop markets skewed due to her massive popularity.

For the most part, Clark has lived up to the hype — even if Indiana is winless. There’s no denying her offensive impact, averaging just shy of 18 points and six assists in her first five games as a pro.

Clark has also battled on the boards in those debut outings, pulling down six or more rebounds in three of her last four games. That has her rebound prop sitting at 5.5 O/U on Friday.

That total opened as low as 4.5 at some books and other shops have the Under 5.5 juiced to as high as -130 on Friday morning. Player projections for this matchup in L.A. call for just five rebounds from Clark, who’s taking on the top rebounding team in the WNBA right now.

The Sparks boast a rebound rate of 53.9% through three games, giving up an average of only 32 total rebounds against. The Fever, on the other hand, have been horrific on the glass. They’re second-worst in rebound rate (48%) and snatching less than 33 boards per contest.

If we shop around Friday morning, we can find Clark to go Under five rebounds at -115.

Fever vs Sparks same-game parlay (SGP)

Rickea Jackson Over 9.5 points

Caitlin Clark Under 5.5 rebounds

Los Angeles Sparks +2.5

Jackson can get buckets and is now getting minutes. I expect her to score 10 or more and remind everyone she’s a Top 5 pick too.

Clark’s projections call for five rebounds on the nose against the best rebounding team in the WNBA right now.

My power ratings pumped out a spread closer to a pick’em. Indiana is playing its second road game in three days, and third game in four days.
