The Minnesota Lynx are just one victory away from reaching their first WNBA Finals since 2017, but the Connecticut Sun may have other ideas in Game 4.

The Lynx took control of this series with a 90-81 Friday night victory at Mohegan Sun Arena, and my Lynx vs. Sun predictions expect the Lynx to close out this series.

Read on as I explain why my WNBA picks expect the Lynx to clinch this series on Sunday, October 6.

My analysis
The preseason pundits tabbed the Minnesota Lynx to finish as low as 10th in the standings, but they’ve proven everyone wrong and are one game away from reaching the WNBA Finals.

The Commissioners Cup champs have won the past two against the Connecticut Sun in decisive fashion. The Lynx jumped out to early leads in both clashes, and the Sun couldn’t score enough to catch them.

That’s because the Lynx are one of the best defensive teams in the league. They're tied with Connecticut in points allowed during the playoffs (70), and across the last two tilts, they've gotten nearly every defensive stop they’ve needed when they’ve needed to.

That’s how the Lynx have fooled the preseason pundits all season long. They play lockdown defense when necessary and find a way to outscore their opponents with their exceptional ball movement, cutting abilities, and timely threes.

That’s why I like the Lynx to win this game. They’ve solved the riddle that is the Sun by becoming aggressive early on the offensive end, grabbing the lead, and letting the stop unit do the rest. That’s how they’ve won three of their last four against the Sun and why they’ll wrap this series up on the road.

Lynx vs Sun same-game parlay (SGP)

Lynx moneyline

Napheesa Collier 21+ points

Courtney Williams 12+ points

I like Lynx Olympian Napheesa Collier to score 21+ points, a number she's cleared in four of her last six. Her early offensive aggressiveness has given the Lynx much-needed early leads, and it's why they're one win away from a shot at a WNBA title.

Lynx guard Courtney Williams has picked up her scoring across the past two. She averaged 11 points per game during the regular season, and her mid-range jumper has been money. Williams has scored 12+ in eight of her last dozen games and cleared this number in four of six against the Sun.
