Sparks vs Lynx Predictions, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

The Sparks have been looking ahead to next season for some time now, but they'll face a Lynx team that's looking ahead to the postseason and resting its stars as a result. Look for L.A. to end their down year on a high note.

The Los Angeles Sparks have been one of the W’s unluckiest teams this season.

However, the Minnesota Lynx plan on resting stars Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride tonight, which could give Los Angeles all the luck they need to end their eight-game losing streak.

Read on for my full Sparks vs. Lynx predictions and WNBA picks for Thursday, September 19.

Sparks vs Lynx predictions

My best bet
Sparks +4.5 (-110 at bet365)

My analysis

The Los Angeles Sparks were unlucky to lose No. 2 overall pick Cameron Brink to injury, leading to a miserable 7-32 record and an eight-game losing streak heading into tonight’s matchup with the Minnesota Lynx

However, the Sparks could win this game vs. the Lynx assuming Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride sit out ahead of the start of the WNBA playoffs.

The Lynx are a side with an eight-player rotation. They get 19 points per night from their bench, but that bench has been weakened by two players, and the end of the Lynx bench hasn’t logged many minutes.

The Sparks’ defense is shaky, but removing 27 points and 11 boards from the Lynx lineup could be the luck Los Angeles is finally looking for. The Sparks have scored 81 points per night across their last 10, will have a full lineup, and can at least score with Minnesota.

I think the Sparks can win this game, but it’s hard to back a team that’s dropped nine of its last 10 on the moneyline. Still, the Lynx missing their two best players on both ends of the floor gives Los Angeles a good chance to cover the number tonight.

Sparks vs Lynx same-game parlay (SGP)

Sparks +4.5

Over 152.5 (alt. total)

Dearica Hamby Over 16.5 points

bet365 gives us a great alternate number for the total, and I also like Sparks leading scorer Dearica Hamby to have a big night.

The Sparks don’t play much defense, and the alt total of 152.5 is too low for this game. The vaunted Lynx defense is weakened without Collier and McBride, and I like Sparks chances of scoring big tonight.

Hamby has cleared her number in each of her last two tilts. She can score from anywhere and is draining 53% from the field and 31% from downtown across her last 10.
