Abraham-Dirrell

Abraham's camp is complaining about the judges and referee. Since this fight is not for a world title, the judges and referee are appointed by the state. In retaliation, Abraham's camp has said they will be extremely aggressive and not leave it in the judges hands. I've seen Dirrell hurt by non-punchers. But Abraham is the type of fighter that needs his feet to be set to have good power. I like Dirrell by dec. It was +278 now its +259. Who's with me and why?

I will be putting a small play on Abraham -5 points handicap at -115, (KO,TKO, is a winner also).

Logic says if Dirrell stays on his feet for 12 rounds he wins this by decision.

I don't trust his chin, and Abraham has a style to stop Dirrell. Andre Dirrell has been tagged by stiffs one thing these stiffs have in common is they weren't A or even B talent, so he was able to run and regroup.

He fought the perfect fight against Froch (which I thought he won) and still got the loss.

This was against Froch who as a boxer is mediocre, his best weapon is his heart and aggression.

Abraham is a MUCH better fighter than Froch.

Just have a feeling Dirrell will get caught once he does,he will not be the same fighter.

Abraham throws some very sneaky straight punches where as Froch is a LOOPER and throws wide and you can see them coming. Abraham not so much.

I look for Dirrell to stick and move for a few rounds looking good and only a matter of time before he gets hit. That's what were betting on does Dirrell get knocked out or not, how does he respond to getting hit/hurt?

Small play here as Dirrell does have the talent to stick and move for 12 rounds, just not fond of guys with questionable chins and stamina issues :-)

Hey NuttyRich, when has Dirrell showed stamina issues? Remember the physical advantages Dirrell had over Froch are even more exagerated for this fight (speed, height, reach). Abraham has slow feet remember.

DatMofo he tired in the Froch fight, after round 6 he began to hold on the inside where as before he used speed and combos. He tired when he ran away from Curtis Stevens.. (when I say ran I mean he ran) LOL!

He started to slip many times in later rounds due to weak legs and running so much.

Dirrell may have the height reach .. and speed he has the TOOLS to beat Abraham but in boxing that's not enough.

I think Jermaine Taylor has showed us that a few times..  all the great tools sometimes at the end aren't enough.

I'm playing this small as this is a very tough fight, can go either way, I wish you the best on the fight.

                        

DAMN! Dirrell by dec is down to +210.(from +278) Obviously somebody agrees with me. I highly respect Abraham's ability to use bullshit punches to set up his power punches, I just don't think he's going to be in range often enough. The key to beating a fighter like Dirrell using Abraham's body is to use feints (feints work well versus scared fighters) and work the body(the head can move but the body cant). We'll see if Abraham can do it. I hope not!

Yes but oddly the more important line the points handicap went UP for Abraham from 4.5 to 5. I think Dirrell backers  know the likely way he wins is a decision, then again .. +210 isn't a bargain anymore...

 I would go for +170 what if he stops Abraham? What about cuts? Miranda did break Abraham's JAW.

What if it's a DRAW?  You would get refunded on a draw (on 5dimes).

At this point better to take the +170.

I'm kind of shooting myself in the foot because  I want to root for the American fighter. I'm not a 100 % fan of Abraham's style, it wins but it wins ugly.. just like Dirrell sometimes.

People forget Abraham giving away rounds and looking stiff because he finds the KO and people remember the KO and not the stinker rounds.

Abraham wants so badly to to impress the American people (he states it over and over he wants to be well known in the states).

Maybe he will go away from his game plan a bit,maybe a bit more aggressive early on who knows.

I just hope either guy doesn't use excuses, Abraham on the judges, and Dirrell on back spasms.

We also have some other good fights.. Funeka vs Guzman on HBO  (A Rematch in which Funeka won almost every round and it got called a DRAW, one of the biggest rip offs I've seen in quite a while).

I feel Funeka wins this easily Guzman showed his true colors when he was ready to take on Nate Campbell and didn't make weight, his career has been in a downward spiral since.

The Guzman that showed up against Funeka was  an absolute joke.

The we have Gamboa fighting in Germany he's -2000 but why is this man fighting in Germany.. against an unknown, he probably wins easily.. but doesn't make sense.. he's gotten the American exposure now why take on fighters in Europe that no one will really see?  All risk and NO reward.

Then we have Victor Cayo vs Maidiana, this I expect to be a thrilling fight, I'm waiting for PROPS to go up on the fight... two power punches who think offense first.. this might be the fight of the night.

Steve Molitor vs Taklani Ndlovu, it's a rematch why I don't know why when Molitor already knocked him out, but good to put in a parlay if one uses 5dimes.

Action packed card for Saturday! I will post links for the  Gamboa and Molitor fights, the rest are on HBO and showtime!

I'm on Dirrell via ML. I don't believe Abraham knocking out a shot Taylor is a good indicator that he will knock Dirrell out and I do believe, based on both fighters styles, that Abe needs a ko to win. Froch landed some good shots on Dirrell and what I took from that fight is that Direll has a good chin.

I.M.H.O.   I think dirrell will fade as the fight goes on. when abraham finds him a few times in the middle rounds dirrell won't be the same. I'll be shocked if he wins the fight no matter where it is and who the judges are. he can't run the whole fight and he will get rocked. if you can just lay the wood and take abraham.  GL all

Guzman is damaged goods 3rd time  since '07 he didn't make weight!

The fight against Nate Cambell was canceled and in '07 he didn't make weight (DannoDanger saw the fight).

This makes 3 times. Also take the fact that Funeka in my eyes destroyed him the first time and Guzman was close to quitting.

I think this guy quits on his stool... in the later rounds!

Sadly 5dimes doesn't have a point handicap as that would be my bet (even though Funeka got robbed last time).

-240 is still a lot of chalk to Lay maybe parlay Funeka and Molitor together?

I like the opinions stated on this thread. I wish more of America cared about the Super Six, because it is one of the best things that has happened to any sports in a long time.

 I will cheer for Dirrell because I bet him and becuase I think he got screwed against Froch. He is so fking quick and I wish he had a better trainer because he has mucho talent.

 With that being said, I have to tv;s running in my living room for my party> I will be showing the Dirrell fight and the UFC at the same time. It will be a great night. Enjoy the fights.

WOW!  That was on of the cheapest shots I have ever seen by Abraham.  They should consider  removing him from the entire tournament for that one.

Tough Luck loss for those who had Dirrell by decision, or the Over.  Sometimes crazy things can happen in Boxing match. I guess that's why they call it.... Gambling.

are u guys kidding me??? Dirrel slipped, and took a shot. not a massive shot either. You can actually see him start to say, Oh man" and then he fell over and took the disqual. Don't get me wrong. He should be disqualified, But No way did Dirrel want anymore of Abraham. All he needed was 1 more round and dirrell was done.

That knockdown from abraham. he was off balance.

Dirrell is a great actor.

 

I hope there is a rematch.

It's a tournament no rematches, they move on regardless.. he is fighting Froch next. (Abraham that is).

The fans are the one that get shafted we didn't get to see the final 1.5 rounds.. I feel there was going to be a KO either way.

Bad way to end a fight, but a DQ is a DQ regardless if he faked it.

I need to watch the replay a few more times, but the way his legs were shaking didn't look like he faked it- I could be wrong.
