Andre Ward v Allan Green

Green fought the fight just to survive. A terrible performance. Your right Rich....Taylor could not have done any worse. At least the blond woman in the 2nd row was hot. She was the BEST part of watching this fight. What a stinker.

Rich I had a HUGE hunch Green was seriously over rated and you agreed. I agree totally Taylor's place was now justified in the tournament. He is a very talented fighter, he is just shot. Sadly as I suspected there is a HUGE gap between the top 6 Super Middleweights (Including Bute) and the rest. Hence the reason why Taylor was invited. Who knows maybe if he avoided the late KO's he might have seen it through. No way Taylor losses 120-108.

I am not even sure Green beats Miranda even when 100% healthy. Sadly the Taylor/Green problem is probably going to cost one of the most talented and gifted fighters in the tournament his place. Andre Dirrell will probably lose to Ward and that means he is probably out. The only thing stopping me unloading my bankroll on Ward over Dirrell is how hungry will Ward be after a) already qualifying and b) fighting his mate. That will lead to more caution but Ward on points looks a solid play.

If I am Kessler, I tell my promoter, I will fight Green in his own back yard. Kessler should have no fear there and that will get him a home semi in Denmark where he will be very tough to beat. I see Kessler now making the final.

Froch v AA is a fight I cannot wait for. If it's on a nuetral venue, I really can't call it. I think Froch goes a few rounds up early behind his underestimated jab. I think though he eventually gets dragged into a war and I see him maybe getting stopped late by AA. AA could have stopped Dirrell as Dirrell was gassing and AA came on strong. I think Froch is not hard to hit and he has been in a lot of tough fights. I have a hunch this catches up with him here and now that he has lost the aura of an undefeated fighter I think he could be vunerable here. Either way I wouldn't bet much on it but it should be alot of fun to watch!

Bit of a lull for me boxing. No matches that really get the juices flowing for a while. Will have to wait awhile for Devon v Kotelnick. Love the points there. Same plays actually points and Devon KO 10-12.

Chavez v Duddy next week. I will tail some of my cappers here. I have no real feelings or leans. Maybe the over but then again this could be a 6 round war, plus Duddy cuts easy..Help!

I Chavez and Duddy are two bums, but Duddy is a punching bag.

Chavez hasn't had a legit fight yet, he truly lost to Matt Vanda IN MEXICO he blamed the bad performance on a COLD.

Points makes sense Kotelnick has a great chin, and NO power, he will offer very little in terms of problems for Alexander.

Same formula as tonight is the best, the pure talented boxer winning a lopsided decision and maybe getting a late KO.

 I would look to wait and see the under cards of that fight  (Duddy/Chavez) also this MIGHT be a good prop bet fight so let's see what the props are as the week unfolds.

Wow was watching the Mayol fight was a war. Mayol was -1100  and LOST a Unanimous decision.

                                                  

Green did what I expected him to do tonight ,nothing.

As for next week I think Chavez wins next week but -340 is higher than I figured the fight would be .I guessed it should have been -200

As for a future fight I'm all over Tavoris Cloud over Johnson

I like Cloud over Johnson as well. I mean how long can Johnson keep going for? and Cloud looks a good prospect. Still I like Glen, he is all heart and I certainly won't be playing much on this fight because quite simply Cloud hasn't been in the ring with anyone nearly as good as Glencoffe (inclusing Clinton Woods).

For me a Cloud win probably on points, but playing the over on a fighter that is as old as Glen Johnson and has as many ways as Glen Johson is never a safe play. I have seen fighters become very old in the ring and I hope it doesn't happen here.

-200 though looks a very good price. Something inside me though will not play large on this. I guess I just don't trust Cloud completely yet. Will look at this fight more the closer it gets. My initial thoughts are Cloud on points but I can be swayed. I know Rich is a big Johnson fan, will be interesting to see his take on this

Mack I agree I cannot trust Cloud just yet, so far his MOUTH is bigger than his RESUME.

He has fought no one, to his credit he has dominated these nobodies. He got Clinton Woods way past his prime in the U.S.

Guess what Cloud hasn't fought since he beat Clinton Woods when he laces in August it will be almost a YEAR that he hasn't been in the ring.

For a guy who won his first title last year he seems to be looking past Glen Johnson, and looking forward to Chad Dawson, here's an article he states Dawson is ducking him.

His first real "opponent" was a faded Clinton Woods, I don't think he is ready to be fighting Dawson yet (even if Dawson is ducking him).

I believe he needs to go through Glen Johnson first before calling out Chad Dawson.

Cloud is truly unproven, go to boxrec.com and see his resume, this "power" he has hasn't showed up his last 2 fights, one against a Mexican fighter with a good chin, the fight was stopped but he didn't go down. Clinton Woods took him the distance, I believe Cloud PUSHES his punches rather than punching through fully.

I love Glen Johnson he has everything a boxing fan wants, but he is old, he was unable to fully cut the ring off against Yusef Mack who is a cupcake compared to Cloud.

Johnson seemed to Follow Mack around rather than stalk,he also looked a bit gassed trying to finish Mack. I take nothing from Johnson he will be what 42? I don't see the props yet, but as much as I hate it I would have to go with Cloud because I think we may finally see Johnson's age show.

3-4 years ago I would say Glen Johnson in a thrilling war but not sure he can apply the pressure for the distance at his age.

Take a look at the Yusef Mack fight, you can see Glen Johnson conserving some of his energy and not letting his hands go as much as we are used to.

Against a hungry Cloud yes unproven Cloud... I would have to go with CLOUD but would wait for props to come out.

I would not lay -200 on CLOUD because their styles are very much the same, come forward fighters who like to SLUG it out.

The fact that Cloud hasn't fought in almost a year after winning a title, albeit not a big title, makes me wonder if he is one of those "It's coming to me guys" rather than displaying it in the ring.

Hard to lay -200 on a guy who hasn't been tested. I will wait for props to come out hey may even be able to take Johnson with a Points Handicap ...:) Depends on  the points.
