any numbers yet for Winky & Williams?

My guess would be about the -240, +200 range. Winky has almost no chance at winning the fight so I'll lay the chalk.

MY guess would be initial line -240 for Williams.

My Uncle lives in Florida, and he said Winky parties like a rock star there. I personally cannot see why this fight would be made. Winky is a boring fighter and makes everyone look bad because all he does is play defense. Winky is just a partier and a gambler now. NO way should this fight have ever been made, bad choice by Paul Williams because yes he WILL WIN but  NO ONE has ever fought Winky and looked good  nor was he ever in an exciting fight. Hopefully Winky breaks his hand on the craps table and has to pull out. This is a snooze fest.

I'm sure some do, I don't see Mosley, or Hopkins partying like a rockstar. If you look at the great fighters, the ones that walk around close to their NATURAL WEIGHT are the best, Hopkins, Mosley! When you hear of a bum like Margarito weighing 200 pounds in public, shows you don't hit the gym. Trinidad did the same thing, walked around close to 200 yet fought at 147 most of his life (154 at the end).

Regardless if they party like a rock star or not, this is a boring fight on paper, boring fight on tv, and shouldn't be made not a great choice for Paul Williams as there is nothing to gain fighting Winky he is past his prime and is NOT a crowd pleaser.

Another negative is that Winky removed himself from the public eye for so long with that layoff.  No one cares about him anymore.  That being said, Williams doesn't have many choices at this point.  People are not going out of their way to look for Paul Williams.  I would love to see him fight Sergio Martinez, if he gets by Cintron this weekend.

and what makes Winky washed up? Losing to BHop who has proven hes still got it and getting screwed against Jermain Taylor?

Im sure this long time hes had off will prob give him a bit of ring rust, but to say Winky is washed up just because you don't like the way he fights is crazy

I don't know why you chose the word argument as I state what I see, and feel. It's an opinion, not a debate or argument.

Losing to Bhop proves what? The fight was a BORE, Yes Hopkins is still good but he lost to a guy who fights the last minute of every round (Hopkins). Winky at his BEST wasn't a flashy nor exciting fighter. He doesn't have his defense anymore, and he had one heck of a defense. Remember Speed and defense are the first to go and clearly evident in his last few fights. Winky is going on 38, if he was fighting Paul Williams 5 years ago YES, but NOT THIS WINKY WRIGHT. All this time off, no tune up fight? Defies LOGIC. He's taking the last cash fight and walking away. Paul is too fast too long too young and much Hungrier. Paul Williams can hit hard when he DOES sit on his punches, where as Winky couldn't hurt a fly. MY main point was NOT about Winky, the point is this fight makes NO SENSE, except for their pockets. Boxing fans want to see a good fight not this garbage. Paul Williams has NOTHING to GAIN from this. So he wins, he beats a guy who's 38 with tons of ring rust.. and who clearly isn't in his prime, where's the making for a thrilling fight? It's not like Winky is bringing something new to the table you know what he's about. I liked him years ago (even if he wasn't a crowd pleaser). Winky has a very tight defense and that's gone now and he takes more punches. Styles make fights and these two styles don't seem to mesh well for boxing fans. For betting fans yes you take Paul Williams and Cash in, while you're at the Casino maybe playing some of the cash back you might run into Winky at the craps table :-)

LOL are you guys serious? What have Paul Williams done to make himself so great? I understand Winky is old, but other than the long lay-off what makes people think WInky is washed up?? Because he lost to BHOP with a big ass cut over his eye at 170lbs? which is clearly not Winkys weight...
Linesmakers arent dumb, thats why Williams is only -160, they know dummies like you guys think its a steal.. Winky has a great chance at winning if he's even at 70%


1. Paul Williams doesnt use his height

2. Paul Williams defense is TERRIBLE, Winky will pepper him all day with jabs and str8 lefts..Winky is a very accurate puncher...Do the math.. Sharmba/Quintana/Mathatesse/Margarito in the second half of that fight/ and even Verno Philips didnt have a problem at all finding Williams face. After all those fights, Williams face looked like it been 'Punished'.. Mix that in with WInkys defense and str8 punches =  Winky decision.. Williams leaves himself open waay too much.. He has no business letting guys 5'6 touch him at all, Winky is 5'10

3. This is only Paul Williams 2nd fight at 160lbs.. Who knows how he will carry the weight vs a class A fighter. And you mention Wright has no power, which is true, but I dont think Williams have that much power at 147, let alone 160..Those recent knockouts were fools gold

4. Winky has TONS of experience beating 1 dimensional fighters like Williams.. Williams isnt vright enough to adjust and doesnt think in the ring. Winky is gonna make him think

This will be a very close fight and probably also hard to score..If Jermaine Taylor couldnt beat Winky who I think is big a superior fighter to Williams, I dont know how Williams will. Jermain has a better everything than Williams, boxing skills, jab, power.. Williams only has stamina over Taylor

Williams is OVERRATED.. After round 4 he starts blocking punches with his face. I mean look at his fights, his defense is TERRRRIBLE..Basically his offense is his defense. WInky wont be able to miss. Williams is gonna be hitting a lot of gloves and elbows and Winky will be hitting a lot of face LOL.. Williams plan is to keep Winky in his shell, thats harder said than done. It hard to do that when your boxing going backwards, I gaurantee Winky will back Williams down and pepper him to death...
