Anyone have thoughts on Wright/Hopkins?

Yes, I feel if Winky could keep his punch output high every single round for 12 rounds, he would give himself the best opportunity to win the fight by dec. However, as I said in my previous post, I am not confident Winky can do this at 170. Nobody knows how he will look at this weight. If his walking around weight is close to 190, I don’t really see how he can be in great shape at 170. He appears to be in wonderful shape at 160, so it would be my guess that at 170 he is in less then stellar shape. We will see tonight if this weight affects his punch output or not.

Well Winky has said that his punch output WILL be high and wnats to throw between 70-90 punches per round,if he does this do u give him at least a 80% chance of winning a dec?

If he throws 70-90 per round he should win by outworking Hopkins. I know what Hopkins brings to the table and he can be outworked. The only question is if Winky can do that at 170 for the entire fight?

Winky is going to learn, in a big way, just how hard it is to land effectively against Hopkins.  He will not be as willing to let his hands go when he gets countered with hard lefts to the body and rights to the chin. 
 
Tarver is not so different than Winky, except that Winky is a much more effective jabber and has better defense.  But, Tarver's conditioning for that fight was suspect, so I am not sure you can compare the two.
 
I don't think it matters how many punches Winky throws because if he is just throwing and missing, that does not bode well with the judges.  Winky's punches will go pat-pat-pat, and Hopkins will go thud!   Winky will get shaken in this fight and it'll be interesting to see how he reacts.

I think with the lead right hand hold tactic that Hopkins will use, it is going to be very hard for Winky to throw 70-90 punches a round. However, that really is Winkys best chance to win...throw as many punches as possible!

Leaning for Winky by DEC and Draw . . . stay tuned for final plays. . . . love how theyre selling the fight so well during the weigh-in. Got me more interested. Amazing what a simple push to the face can do . . in their case . . bring in millions!

The little I have seen from you in the boxing forum, I like.  Keep stopping by here from time to time.  Seems you know your stuff.  Now, whether we're right tonight remains to be seen.

He MAY get countered, but that is still his best way to win the fight. If he does not outwork Hopkins, how else would he possible win? He is not going to stop Hopkins with a single shot, and we all know how crafty Hopkins is. This is a case where Winky may indeed be countered all night should he throw 100 punches a round, but once again, the best he can hope for is to outwork Hopkins and win a decision.

Question: Does anyone think that this fight goes the distance?
I know that both of the fighters are considered "defensive fighters".
If not, then why not put $100 on under 11.5 (+425) and put $100
both on Hopkins to TKO (+950) and Wright to TKO (+1000) and
sit back and enjoy either a +1425 payday or a +1375 payday??
