Al.Po. is the aggressor, crowd loves which might add up, nice body work from time2time. But Eddie is counter Al.Po. Well. More skillful showing by EC than I expected. But EC is laying-back, not throwing enough shots to score. The Jerry announcer called him "...a dance clown."
Al.Po. up at least a Round, maybe 2 after 8. But his left hand side defense is poor. Wald will eat that right up.
9th was the best 2-way Round.

As does Al.Po. via Decision. Very lopsidded scoring. I'll leave that to you tape delayed viewers to discuss. I had it 7-4-1 Al.Po. But 7-5 or thereabouts is pretty solid. "fast" Eddie did not do enough to win, but the 119 guy must really like Al.Po.

7-5 or 8-4 range was ok. I think Eddie Chambers is a heartless bitch to be honest. He easily had the talent to win that fight but threw it away. I mean Povetkin threw more than 2 punches for his every 1.

Completely agree, I am about to post a far too lengthy message about what I just watched. I'm pissed as a boxing fan right now.

I am in disbelief at what I just witnessed and pissed off as an American boxing fan. If you want to see an example of why the American heavyweight scene has fallen into a dark pit, then just re-watch Povetkin-Chambers. I thought Chambers was the best young American heavyweight (Tony Thompson is the best American contender, but he's not young) going into tonight and talent wise he probably still is, but he falls down to about #100 after tonight. Arreola is super raw, but at least he would have TRIED to win.
Through 4 rounds I had the fight 3-1 Chambers (for that one judge not to give at least 2 of those rounds to Eddie is a farce). He was landing 1-2's at will, landing counter rights up the pipe, had Povetkin's left eye swelling badly, and frankly beating Povetkin up. Then all of a sudden something happened; did Dominick Guinn take over Chambers body, did Eddie realize he was on his way to a title shot and freeze, or did he remember that Sauerland had given him quite a large bonus to lose this fight? I don't know, all I know is that he became a professional mannequin instead of a professional boxer.
What was stopping him from throwing punches? Who knows. Was Povetkin hurting him? Nope. Was he completely gassed? No, based on appearances it looked like Povetkin was far more tired than he was. Was it Povetkin's activity? The reason Povetkin was active was because Eddie was not, it's not hard to stay active on a heavy bag. Was Povetkin just the more skilled fighter? Nope. The reason it appears is simple, HEART, something American heavyweights don't have. We have seen it time and time again with young American heavyweights starting with Michael Grant and to an extent Riddick Bowe (I think he could have been special if he would have cared), it's becoming almost laughable. I know I'm not a professional fighter, but come on Eddie, you were on your way to fighting the recognized best HW in the world and you quit throwing punches for no reason, what a joke.
Tonight was the epitome of what the American HW scene has become and it makes me sick as an American boxing fan. If I would have been Buddy McGirt I think that I would have hit Eddie with a left hook in the corner, though that probably still wouldn't have pissed him off enough to come out of his post 4th round shell. Eddie will probably watch this tape and cry at how winnable this fight was, but that's probably giving him too much credit, I don't think he can show that much emotion.
Oh yeah.... .20 of a unit on the Draw (+2500) in Chambers-Povetkin

Just my two cents, I had Cazares winning 96-94 last night.
One play for me, it's a LONG shot....
.20 of a unit on the Draw (+2500) in Chambers-Povetkin If Chambers doesn't pose and stays active with his punch output he could maybe squeak out a decision win, which is translated into a draw in Germany.
Yep, still stand by this claim.
BTW, Wlad impales Povetkin in 5 if that fight happens. If Wlad lands 1-2's at just 25% of the rate that Chambers did over the first 4 rounds, Povetkin may be decapitated. Defense is not in Alex's vocabulary.

I'd say a close decision for Chambers would be a SD for Pov, and a wide decision is a draw. You're analysis is spot on. Chambers didn't want to win the fight. Perhaps he doesn't relish Povetkin's fate: brain damage by Wlad. It won't take 25% the rate it'll take one right hand.

Interesting influenza noise outta the Al.Po. camp this AM. & Al.Po.'s eye could not be much darker. That shiner needs more than a steak, it needs an entire cow.
