Pre-Margarito I wouldve liked Cotto in this fight, but he is clearly not quite the same fighter now. He's still very good but he seems to have slowed a tad. He endured 2 very grueling fights with Margo and Clottey, and Pacquaio is on top of the sport right now, he is like a whirlwind in the ring. Cotto wont get blown out by any means, I just see Pac's handspeed and movement being a bit too much. I think Manny will mark up Cotto's eyes very badly as the fight wears on and Cotto will be eating alot of quick punches that he wont see due to the blood. I like Manny by very late stoppage or on pts.

manny has fought alot of top fighters, now if you was to say cotto is the first true 147 pounder he has fought then you would be right, as for the margarito fight you cant look at that cotto was cheated by the piece of shhh, these are two world class fighters and my money is on cotto tonight $500 to win $1225 that doesnt mean i know im going to win but i like my chances, and i feel like cotto if he can get his jab going can slow manny down enough to jump on him a lil bit, but i said if manny wins i will give him the title of G.O.A.T as far as the 147 pounders and lower goes, i just feel he would be the best of all times if he can take 7 different weight classes, but ive heard stupid talk coming from both backing sides and enough is enough lets just see what happens between these two champs.

Just because Cotto is value does not make it the right play. Waves this is boxing rationale. Thought and analysis has gotten into my picks. Unlike you bozo&#xD;&#xA;Never to early to get this started. The one thing that strikes me just how bigger Cotto is here compared to Pacman in this clip above. People that compare Cotto to Ricky Hatton do not know boxing. Cotto is MILES better. And Cotto is huge at 147! Hatton was not. So he is a far superior boxer to Hatton, has a far better defence then Hatton (would not be hard) and will be the biggest &#x27;live&#x27; guy pacman has fought. Basically Manny has a huge challenge ahead. Adding to the fact we are hearing negative stories from training camp and the training camp of Pacman&#x27;s being in the Philippines, I am starting to see this as a 50/50 fight. So in my eyes the value is backing Cotto.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I believe 2 years ago Cotto is simply to big to win this fight. I believe the Cotto that beat sugar Shane wins this fight as he looks just too big to me and we know normally a good big guy beats a very good little guy. But this is not the same Cotto. He just looks like an ageing boxer and his past 3 fights (especially Marg and Clottley). He&#x27;s defence and reflexes are not what they were. So this is advantage pacman.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Taking all this into account Cotto&#x27;s size advantage, his skills not being what they were, against a Pacman who I am not sure will be 100% prepared for this fight means it is a VERY hard fight to call.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I see two outcomes. Lot of experts see a Hagler v Hearns 3 round tear up. I don&#x27;t see that. I think both these guys have too much respect for each other and while we will see some awesome Exchanges, I don&#x27;t believe we will see them until later in the fight. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;The outcomes I see therefore or either a Cotto KO or Pacman on points. Both are available right now at &#x2B;300. We know Manny has power and he has taken this power up through the ranks. Cotto is huge at the weight though and unlike Rich (who questions Cotto chin) I think Cotto has a rock solid chin. He is easier to hit then he was but only one fighter has put him on the canvas and kept him there. That was Antonio M who would be 20 pounds heavier then pacman and we know have to wonder how authentic that victory was after what happened with his gloves with Sugar Shane. Cotto is a warrior and I just can&#x27;t see a guy as small as Pacman blasting him out of there. I think Pacmans better workrate will in a 116-112 or 115-113 decision. I can&#x27;t see Miguel being able to out decision Pacman (for a lot of reasons) so I believe the only way Miguel wins this fight is by KO. Cotto can punch so if he catches a guy as small as Pacquaio, he is going to hurt him and I see Pacman having a few scary moments in this fight. I really do. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I will be taking pacman on points in a thriller but Cotto backers I certainly would not try to hard to talk you out of backing your horse. I will also put a small saver on the Cotto KO but my main recommendation is for an under par Pacman to win on points in what could easily be seen as a conterversional decision. I think e may even see Pacman v Cotto 2 in the spring..&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;2.5 star Bet Pacman on Points&#xD;&#xA;0.5 star bet Cotto by KO..

and&#xD;&#xA;I have watched as much footage as I can. I watched Pacman&#x27;s last 4 fights. Cotto&#x27;s last 4 fights. I watched Pacmans 24/7 with Oscar/Fatman and of course Cotto. &#xD;&#xA;What a fight we have to look forward to tomorrow. The simple fact is that anyway that thinks Pacman -300/350 is a steal don&#x27;t know boxing. I have been less then impressed with Pacquaio in the buildup to this fight. He does not look focused enough for me and he doesn&#x27;t look as hungry as I have seen previously. He has been starring in movies, his training camp has looked like a circus to me and now he has organised some sort of concert straight after the fight!&#xD;&#xA;Cotto on the otherhand looks as fit as I have ever seen him. His confidence is sky high and right now in my eyes this is a 50/50 fight which means Cotto is exceptional value for the upset. I wouldn&#x27;t even call it an upset to be honest. Cotto is a far superior opponent then a well past it opponent in Oscar and the most over rated fighter in living memory Hatton.&#xD;&#xA;Pacquaio is though a once in a generation fighter. In Money M we have 2. For me Mayweather is the most naturally gifted fighter I have seen maybe in my lifetime (I am 34). I would rate FMM even more naturally gifted then RJJ (debates for another day). Pacman is not as gifted but seeing him evolve into this amazing fighter has has won at 106! its quite frankly incredible. If Floyd continues to avoid the tough fights pacman will be the name we all remember and not Floyd.&#xD;&#xA;Anyway. Sooner or later Manny was going to take on a challenge that was too big for him. The closer we get to the fight the more I feel Cotto could be that challenge that is just too much. If he Exchanges with Cotto regulary Miguel WILL knock him out. I have no doubt about this. The best way for Manny to win this fight is to ignore his old instincts for a brawl and stick and move, in and out. Use his speed effectively and avoid letting Cotto close down the ring. &#xD;&#xA;I think Freddie Roach knows this too and I think in the main you will see Manny boxing from the outside, using his speed and trying not to engage too much (certainly not in the early rounds). He will have to engage at some stage because a Leopard can&#x27;t change his spots that much and at the end of the day Manny is a warrior and he loves to give value for money to the fans. Therefore we should see 2-3 barnstorming rounds. How Pacman deals with these rounds will determine the outcome of the fight. &#xD;&#xA;I believe Manny will have some seriously dodgy moments in this fight and he could be knocked out BUT I am not changing my final picks for the fight..&#xD;&#xA;Over 9.5 rounds 4*star bet &#x2B;110&#xD;&#xA;small savers on........&#xD;&#xA;Pacman to win on points 2* bet &#x2B;300&#xD;&#xA;Cotto TKO 1* bet &#x2B;300.....

mack i know you know your stuff when it comes to boxing because ive seen other threads you were in before, but you cant really believe that manny is a lock tonight, this is by far the biggest test he has ever faced and cotto really has never lost because the margarito fight was bs and i cant believe the boxing commission left that loss on his record, i put 500 on cotto because i believe manny has climbed the weight class ladder as far as he could climb it, but i could be wrong i for sure dont feel like this is in anyway the easiest bet i have ever made, they are both men who are going to give it their all and i just think my money is on the man who will be able to give more, but you never know and gl to us wave

mack ive been watching boxing my whole life and tonight i believe the value is way better in betting cotto because manny is the one who has the most to prove he is going into a weight class against a bigger fighter than he has ever faced, so to be a 300 of more favorite he should of atleast had some fights against guys of cottos size before they couldve made him this big of a favorite, just noway in hell i could lay that much money for the unknown, and i believe the only reason he is, is because he knocked out a bumb who alot of people thought was a world class fighter, but was really a world class joke.

Great write up Mack...I&#x27;m a huge boxing fan, but never post here.  Like many people, I used to follow religiously in the &#x27;80 and early &#x27;90&#x27;s, but drifted away as the product deminished.  Nice to see some juice around a fight for a change.  I came here to look for insight...you gave it to me.  I think the Pacman on points play may be the best play...and I love the Cotto by knockout angle. The only place that use to was the StarDust. Now you can bet a major $500. Also, you can&#x27;t even bet a championship boxing event the his held in Atlantic City becuse Las Vegas doesn&#x27;t trust the New Jersey Athletic Commission. We went to bet 78k on Cotto (Cotto was -260, and Carlos was undefeated at the time), and the teller explained we couldn&#x27;t bet that fight because it wasn&#x27;t in Las Vegas, and if it was the maximum was $500, even if it was held at MGM Grand (all owned by MGM Inc). Because we were listed as ranked VIP customers, they said for Las Vegas fights they would take the action and lay it off through an affiliate sportsbook. So I don&#x27;t think Las Vegas sportsbooks are making fake accounts to make a few extra thousand.&#xD;&#xA;Gotta roll mack, my reception is going in this building, Going up to the suite, I&#x27;ll post from up there.
