Malignaggi gets the win he should of had last time. Too much speed and gets an actual ring to move around in this time. Malignaggi will look better that he did in Houston. However, we might see some close cards. Probably 116-112, 115-113, 114-114, etc. Paulie gets the nod if the fight is even somewhat close imo. With both fighters having very limited options, a trilogy might already be planned.
Vitali ITD/Bradley Parlay, 3 units to win 3.42
Vitali stops his man as usual, Bradley beats a game Peterson at home. Nothing to see here folks.

I like the Vitali pick, the Paulie pick, haven't seen enough of Peterson to see if he's a real threat... but Paulie gets this win, and Vitali gets his KO/stoppage.
Good Luck with the fights :-)

Don't like it. Except to see a Properly movtivated Diaz make sure there is no dispute in the rematch. For me 2 VERY overated fighters but for me Diaz all the way and for quite a large play too..

Mack I don't see the fight as being disputed, it was clear that Paulie got ripped off.
I don't think highly of Paulie probably because he lacks any real punch. I still see Diaz getting the very close rounds as he is still the more marketable fighter.
The first fight Diaz LOST he knows it, some of the rounds weren't even close.
I have yet to look at Peterson/Bradley what do you think of that fight?
Klitcho ITD is a no brainer but I've yet to look at the odds.

I'll be on Diaz as well. Macks' right on that we're dealing with 2 overrated dudes here, but I think we saw the best Paulie could deliver in their first fight. I'd like to think that Diaz is intelligent enough to figure out a different way to pace himself here, although that's clearly an area where he lacks discipline.

I don't think that is the problem. He can't figure out how not to stop blocking jabs with his face. He can't figure out how to stop getting cut up every fight. He can't figure out how to get faster hands. He can't figure out how to cut of the ring and get inside and land those big hooks to the head and body.
I don't know what everyone missed the first time. The smaller, slower Diaz was outboxed by the bigger, faster Malignaggi. It was very clear that Paulie won 8-4, 7-5. He gave him a boxing lesson.
Now Malignaggi gets an extra half pound (fight at 139 instead of 138.5) which doesn't sound like much. However, Malignaggi's camp said that prior to the weigh-in for the first fight Malignaggi's mouth was so dry his gum was sticking to his teeth. He also gets the standard 20 foot ring instead of the phonebooth 18 foot ring they had for their first fight in Houston.
Unless Diaz catches Malignaggi with something big, we'll see a repeat performance from Malignaggi if not more one sided than the first fight. Paulie wants this fight MUCH more than Diaz. Actually, how much longer is Diaz going to fight? He plans on going to law school and has made a ton of money already.
Juan Diaz isn't the type of fighter that changes. Styles make fights, and Paulie has Diaz's number. It's very simple if you ask me.

my friend, I think you just told it like it is
this fight could still go either way 60-40
however
vitali ITD is 95-5
you do the match which is the better bet

Rich, I don't have a huge feeling on Peterson v Bradley. Maybe Bradley but there is no value there. I think he wins but I won't be playing.
I will be playing Diaz. I don't think he could have fought a worse fight first time out. Being at home I think he underestimated Paulie. I think he will motivated this time round and I think he wins well, pretty much in the same way Hatton beat Malinaggi. I will be playing large on Diaz, writeup closer to the fight..

I agree with Mack here. I expect Diaz to really step up the pressure on Malinaggi and throw a million punches a round. He knows that Malinaggi can't hurt him, and he knows that he is way outclassed in terms of boxing skill. His only option is to overwhelm Paulie and pressure him all night. Diaz should be right in his chest all night and never let up. If he does this, he wins a wide decision.

I will wait to see the weigh ins, and how Paulie looks, if he looks like he's coming for a pay check I will not play either side.
Danno & Mack make excellent points, enough to possibly make it a NO GO for me on Paulie, but I need to see Paulie's shape and how amped up he is for this fight.
Tough to look past .. that if Diaz wins.. Marquez II is a huge payday and good fight for us fans.
Walk did point out one thing.. which is not normal for Paulie.. he's the BIGGER GUY. I believe that's why he could take Diaz's punches in the first fight.
He's fought at 147 before his natural weight is 140... so technically this pillow puncher is the bigger guy lol! :).
I will see how each guy looks.. going into the fight... tough call.. everyone makes good points for both sides- Good work!

Malignaggi is crap. Yes he's fast, but with the exception of his jab, what else does he have? The man predictably moves to his left while throwing the jab and he has no right hand to speak of. Diaz recognizes this now and instead of trying to jab with the jabber (not the best idea when your slower with the shorter reach, but I understand the technique), he'll utilize more head movement and throw lead rights to cut off the ring. Once inside Malignaggi will try to hold but Diaz is gonna raise hell before Maliggnagi can hold. Malignaggi will begin to see the pattern so Diaz will begin to utilize feints (after he takes Malignaggi's nuts) and Diaz will also sometimes change angles (see Katsidis fight) when Malignaggi tries to hold. Speed will always trouble Juan (especially early), but Malignaggi's tactics of running and holding will not benifit him on the scorecards. Diaz by close dec. I'm broke (not because of gambling - I'm unemployed) and still playing it big! Laterz.
P.S.
You can't call the first fight a robbery. It was close. But I will admit Gale Van Hoy messed up big time.

That would be great if Juan was some sort of tactical wizard. However, he is not.

Diaz isn't going to fight Marquez. Why get laid out like that again? I enjoyed the first fight but I'm pretty sure it would go down the same way.
Diaz is starting to remind me of RIcky Hatton, but without the moderate pop.
Easily.. MONEY, his career is pretty much over, he can make an amazing Pay Day fighting Marquez.
I agree Marquez would do a lot better this time, but it would still be entertaining as Marquez takes time to warm up like a car in the winter, hence why Diaz looked good the first 4 rounds.
They will exchange and Marquez can easily KO him in the latter rounds.. BUT Marquez has two fights left in my eyes.. he can wait and fight Pac-man if Pac-man loses to Mayweather.
(assuming Pac-man even keeps on boxing after that)...
Or he can fight Diaz which is a decent payday for him, it was one of the best fights of the year before Martinez/Williams.. why not do it again?
It makes sense $$$ wise for both men. I know Marquez desperately wants Pac-man, but he may never face him in the ring again.
Take the money and fight Diaz :-)

People don't realize Malignaggi is a scared little BITCH with no nuts! He doesn't throw his punches with conviction even if he knows its gonna land. Overall though I think Malignaggi looked as good as he can in the first fight and I know Diaz can look better. Diaz is bringin it this time trust me.

Crude analysis aside, I agree 100%.

Dan Rafael said that JMM/Hatton is likely for 2010. Diaz said that he doesn't feel comfortable at 140, and plans on fighting at 135 after this fight. I'd be surprised if JMM ever goes back down there. It's tougher for older fighters to go back down the weight scale.

Ricky Hatton? He's about 225 now.. there is no way you mean Ricky Hatton, maybe Matthew Hatton?
I think Marquez can easily go back being he had an amazingly hard time making weight to fight Floyd, please not Ricky :(
