For what little it's worth, I used to own an MMA org, have an MBA, experience in business valuations, and my former partner is close with DW and the Ferts. He lives in the UAE now and knows the 10% buyer. I'll stick with what I stated.
I'm not going to argue with you over the valuation, the point was that the Toney payout was peanuts to them, and using your line of logic, Toney may well have received just a fraction of the amount claimed.
And it actually does. Do you seriously think $25,000 either way matters to them financially? It becomes a pissing match with machismo involved. I've had multi-million $ real estate deals that were lost over $5000.
Hurry? Its been almost 20 years? lol
I will admit, econ and business isn't my specialty, so I'll leave it at that. You are probably closer to being correct in a valuation system than I am. Maybe it is peanuts to the Fertitta's, but who the hell is paying out of pocket? From what the venue made and what the fighters got paid, Toney walked out with pretty much the lion share.
What basically happened is, Toney is done in boxing. He's in his 40's, looked like garbage for a hot minute, can't get a fight...stick a fork in him. Dude chased Dana around and White folded like an ez chair. The man at the helm of a 2B company got played by a street cat from Detroit. I can guarantee it was the easiest payday of his life. Not the brightest bulb in the box.

His boxing is so boring how could you of liked him as a boxer?
he boxed like a old ass granny that could barely move.
you are an idiot, If you think his boxing is boring than you don't know shit about the sweet science, toney is one of the most skilled inside fighters who ever lived, toney's opponents almost never landed anything clean and his counterpunching skills were top notch, if you don't appriciate the skills that toney showed throught his career than you're not even intelligent enough to comment about this topic , punk

It was embarrassing. As one who prefers boxing over MMA, by a long shot, I thought it was a joke Toney did not even attempt to throw a punch prior to being taken down. It was very clear that Toney did not train for the fight or at least did not put any training towards getting off the ground or stopping a takedown. He was trying to use just his upper body to move Couture off him, no legs or hips. Couture even said after the fight there was not nearly enough time for Toney to train and learn basic MMA stuff. Pretty clear Dana White wanted this to make boxing look like a joke and MMA to be superior. Same reason why he will never let any of his guys get into a boxing match because he knows those MMA guys cannot hang in the boxing ring. Funny how the boxers have no problem leaving their sport, which pays much more, to give MMA a shot.
