Forget Willims vs Winky! This could be the fight to get your bankroll back up.
The undefeated Brit crosses the pond for the first time ( actually, he fought at some gay bar versus some scrub that he demolished ).But truly, does the stand a chance?Yes, I have watched some footage and yes, I know he has a chin, will come forward and get hit, and will test Taylor, but does this natural 168er stand a chance against the quicker and stronger Taylor?Taylor looked great in his first fight at 168 against a somewhat washed up Lacy, before getting demolished twice by the 160 champ and pound for pounder Kelly Pavlik.
With all the controversy going on over in the UK about lack of interest in TV coverage, do you guys think “The Cobra” is 100% focused?Sure they are saying the fight should get picked up last minute by UK TV, but still, what kind of motivation, or lack there of, does this have on “The Cobra” in the biggest fight of his life?In what will obviously be his biggest pay-day to date, this could be a simple case of a protected Brit “selling” his belt, later returning to UK to sell-out crowds against lesser opposition.
With a name like Taylor on his resume, win or lose, his stock will surely shoot through the roof.I just read that he is being put up on a “5 star resort and spa” in Canada to adjust to the US.Are you kidding me?The last thing this guy needs is to be treated like a Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather, or a prime Tyson! There has been a lot of media saying he is way over his head and far as his ego goes, and that he may be taking Tyalor lightly.
I see Taylor using his jab to bloody the Brit to a pulp, later leading to a wide decision or possible late stoppage.Frosch won’t be running, and Taylor’s power has been proven in the past to faze opponents who stand and exchange.I think this price is WAY too generous, and will be making it a max play.Am I missing something simple here? Will the move up in weight for Taylor slow him down and weaker his punches?
Am I missing anything of major significance here?
Thanks guys!

taylor is a natural middleweight. pavlik punched fck out of him.
froch can punch dont worry but he has beaten pretty much only bums. taylor will be in a fight here, he will get hit and hit often and i think he might go down here. i wouldnt bet taylor with hitlers money

froch is a very good body puncher and a combination of that and the fact that taylor seems to fade down the stretch of every fight could be a recipe for an upset. I do like taylor here as I think he is just a much better boxer and will be much faster against a guy in Froch who doesn't have great speed but this will be a close fight imo.

Froch is the bet of the year. Its clowns like EricLinny who gives bookies their money and then the bookies give it back to me. Froch to win by 3-4 rounds pulling away..he is the the real deal, trust me. I have never in my life seen a more overrated fighter then Taylor. He was badly beaten by Kelly Pavlik who was shown for what he was against B-HOP. Froch hasn't beaten anyone but he will. Only Kessler is better then Froch in this division. Mark my words, Froch wins..

Taylor is like one of those draft prospects that wows in the combine and looks the part, but never reaches full potential. I decided after the Spinks fight I'd never play on him again, it was either fade or no bet.

You're missing nothing, this line is insane! I was Big on Paul Williams, but this in my OPINION one of the biggest give away lines in recent memory!
People forget Jermaine was destroying Pavlik in the first fight, until he ran out of gas, actually in the second round he dropped Pavlik and went for the KO and once Pavlik fought it off, Jermaine was doomed cannot blame him going for the finish.
This is Jermaine's easiest fight, styles make fights, and Froch doesn't match up with Jermaine in any category.
Speed, Jab, athleticism, counter punching and does have power he tends NOT to go for the kill he relies on 1-2 1-2-3 combos and that is Froch's downfall as Froch needs someone to engage with and Jermaine WON'T.
People think you can force your will on someone, well you need a good jab to get in, Froch slaps his jab and holds it very low. Jermaine will NOT be there for a COUNTER from Froch.
Froch is way out of his league, this fight is in America!
There is a saying "Your ego is writing checks, your body cannot cash"
In Froch's case
"His EGO is writing checks, his boxing skills cannot cash"
Jermaine easy win!

I don't have a strong opinion on this fight. Maybe the under?
Jermaine was destroying Pavlik in the first fight, for 7 rounds it Pavlik looked horrific, Taylor faded in that fight because he dropped Pavlik in the second and went for the finish. Taylor did the wrong thing as Pavlik got caught sticking his tongue out it wasn't a devastating punch that Jermaine thought it was.
Seven rounds Jermaine made him look like a 12 year old, when fatigue caught up with him then Pavlik took over.
Credit to Pavlik he didn't give up but Jermaine put a boxing Clinic for 7 whole rounds.
Froch is in WAY over his head.
This is Jermaine's chance to shine again, this fight is everything for him and I truly believe he will give Froch a beat down!

Nuttyrich unlike you I know my boxing. Right now American boxers have no real stars (gone are DelaHoya/Hopkins/Mayweather and nearly Sugar Shane. Paul Williams maybe could be a star but more to prove) that you overhype the boxers you do have (Pavlik/Taylor/Berto). Carl Froch is the kind of fighter that will raise his game the better the challenge. Jermain Taylor is theeee most over rated fighter in the world today. Froch wins this by 3-4 rounds EASY! I am throwing in this with a Large double on the Pacman. Easy money...Bet you don't have the guts to post here after you and Ericlinny are proved BADLY wrong. Froch is a superstar in the waiting, he will prove it on Saturday with a easy win..

I can't believe we actually have to debate Pavlik-Taylor again. That one has been over for a long time, and Jermain was way second best. If you really think Taylor was carrying every round before Pavlik put him to sleep, you are wrong. Even if that were the case, how do you explain Taylor losing a wide points decision in the rematch? Where was his boxing clinic in that fight? Maybe he wasn't motivated the second time around because Kelly's title wasn't on the line.
I really don't mind if you put your cash down on a loser like JT, but you have no business trying to sway others with flat lies. No one has forgotten Pavlik-Taylor I. It was a tremendously entertaining and significant fight that should have taught you something about Jermain's mentality and his limitations, not to mention the fact that it was a beating to change his career forever.

OH MY GOD! What Bullsh!t I LOVE American boxers. Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns are the reason I got into boxing. Then came Tyson and then I started watching the old Ali DVD's. Who wants a heavyweight division dominated by Eastern Europeans with no charisma. No one is more annoyed that America is having a lull with great boxers. But what would I expect from a clown like you Eric Linny. I judge boxing on its merits. I bet on B HOP against Pavlik because Pavlik is not on the same league as the great middleweights I mentioned above. I can't explain how Jermaine Taylor managed to beat B HOP. I just honestly think as B HOP got older he started to struggle at the weight.
I am judging the Froch Taylor fight on its merits. This guy Taylor has questions over his heart and rightly so, He is also nowhere near as good as people think he is! Froch would no way take thisd fight in the States if he wasn't full sure he would win. Froch is very like Joe Calzaghe (not nearly as good mind you) in that he raises his game for the bigger challenge. He has the heart of a champion. I remember before the Jeff Lacy fight no one on these boards gave JC a chance. His last 2 fights were rubbish and Jeff Lacy looked like the next big thing. He had an aura about him. A left hook that when hit it was fight over. He demolished Robin Reid in Florida, the same Robin Reid that in many observers opinion including mine beat JC a few years before,.I couldnt believe Lacy was made a favourite for that fight and I can't believe Taylor is favourite for this. Taylor will be beaten and this bum can finally go into retirement as an overrated champion that true boxing observers know he is.
Froch then will fight either Inkin or Lucian Bute. He will beat either or both. Kessler I don't know. I think maybe Kessler wins. In the meantime watch how Pavlik struggles with Aurther Abraham who is no great shakes himself...Froch wins end of..

You contradicted yourself so many times it's not even funny. You said Right now American boxers have no real stars (gone are DelaHoya/Hopkins/Mayweather and nearly Sugar Shane
Yet Hopkins lost twice to this "bum" Taylor. You may have long and thought up write-ups which make some sense, but you are sounding like Froch is an absolute lock of the century and Taylor is ready for retirement. Think before you speak or at least keep it civil

I'm not trying to jump into anybody's dispute, but here are a few Americans that I like:
Paul WIlliams
Juan Diaz
Aaron Williams [cruiserweight]
Chad Dawson
Andre Dirrell
Matt Remillard
Joe Green
Andre Berto
Mark Davis [up and coming beast, keep an eye peeled 12-0]
Danny Jacobs
Demetruis Andrade
Danny O' Connor
Jermain has fought good opposition:
Marquez
Joppy
Edouard
Hopkins
Winky
Ouma
Spinks
Pavlik
Lacy
I would love to make money on Froch but he's only fought Pascal.Froch doesn't look like anything special...a poor RJj copycat imo. Reid is a bum. The reason why Froch is fighting here in the USA is because he's following Hatton and Calzaghe. Nobody respects a padded career on home turf and lets face it, thats what the Brits do. Its good for a start, but not a full career.

I fully respect any poster's opinion on boxing, MMA, NBA, hell even baseball. But this guy has been bashing me since day 1 with my take on Taylor. Did i say Sturm was gonna KTFO this bum Japanese kid he's fighting or that Froch will only last 2 rounds? Those would be grounds for talking shit...I think he's just a little upset that yet another protected European fighter is about to get seriously exposed
