I like Brinkley tonight, and I love the price. I really thought the odds would be closer to even. Stevens made quick work of some undefeated Pole in his last fight, but that guy was a stiff. That was not an impressive win to me, because I don't think Wilczewski is any good. Look at the records of the guys he was beating to get to 22-0. Stevens is a stump, and I think Brinkley is smart enough to use his height and reach to keep Stevens' short punches away from him. Brinkley has much more experience against world class guys, and I think he outboxes Stevens. He might have a few rough patches if Stevens can land a hook, but I think he makes it through in front of the hometown fans. Brinkley by 12 round decision at +450 is pretty generous, if you ask me.
The Arce fight is on Saturday night. I don't know a thing about the guy he's fighting, but Arce is done. That being said, maybe the guy he's fighting is a stiff. If I have no other action on Saturday night, I'd look at playing against Arce at that price (small though).
Later today I'll figure out what I'm officially betting and post it.

I like Brinkley +19.5 pt handicap, if he KO's Stevens that's a win also!
It's -115.
This way even if Brinkley gets the W in our cards but the judges favor the 24 year old who this is make or break for... we can still win on points.
This will be a great fight, two guys going at it. I feel like Danno pulling the trigger on Brinkley by 12 rnd decision.. but going the safer route with the +19.5 points.
I may be over analyzing it but judges like to give rounds to a younger fighter who has places to go.
This is Steven's last shot, he fought against Dirrell on HBO which well was one of the worst fights I've ever seen.. not so much Steven's fault Dirrell ran.
From the other fights I've see of Stevens.. he needs a fighter who will fight his style, and tonight he gets it. Steven's is not a great boxer and the cards I've seen where he brawled the cards were close.. so even if the judges give the nod to Stevens.. can still win on handicap points.
I agree with Danno Arce is 100 % washed up, but he is fighting a guy who has never fought out of Indonesia (well once in the Philippines) and LOST.
Arce is much taller and the bigger guy, I like Arce ITD -190.
Sad to think I'm 3 years older than Arce and he looks like my dad!
Good luck tonight & Tomorrow!

Oh my. It never computed in my brain that he's only 30. That's a rough 30, to say the least.
I had to check boxrec 4 times to make sure I was correct... I couldn't believe it myself.
Sad to say but at 30 he's lost it, he lost it probably two years ago. His style of fighting doesn't lead to a long career at least he's fighting a pure stiff tomorrow.
Maybe his last fight before he retires? Never know with some fighters.. he may box until the brain damage is evident!

+19.5 is a good bet in my opinion just have to worry about Stevens landing a KO punch but the +19.5 covers any Brinkley win and a decision loss the fight is in Reno

Yes that was my only worry the KO Stevens does have power and Brinkley doesn't hide from you.
Good luck,

I agree if Stevens wins it will be probably be ITD, I feel if Brinkley can last the first 4-5 rounds.. he will be okay.
This could end quickly, dangerous play but I felt this was better than laying the chalk with Stevens not sure what his mental frame of mind is.
I know Stevens has much more to LOSE in this fight, you lose on HBO (granted nothing he could of done against Dirrell) and IF he was to lose on national TV on ESPN 2 he would be a stepping stone. A decent stepping stone because he carries power.
MY original thought was Stevens ITD but not 100 sold on him, especially his last 2 fights.. didn't look too great against sub par competition.

Yes, but these last four rounds are not going to be easy. He looks tired, and he's getting very sloppy. Stevens is dangerous. Brinkley needs to keep his hands up and keep pumping that jab. These last four rounds are going to give me a heart attack.
