Wow how convenient, Floyd announces his come back day of Pac-man/Hatton ... and the day after Cotto wins.. (knowing  Pac-man WANTS Cotto)... he announces an injury .. now making himself available. for an OCT date ...against Pac-man.

Marquez I feel for .. he was training so hard not just training he was on a special diet JUST to GET UP to that weight, talk about a double whammy.. Even though I felt floyd would have beaten Marquez easily  at that weight .. I wanted Marquez to get one amazing payday he truly deserves.

We know Bob Arum hates Floyd, but we know MONEY can cure Hatred in BOXING... ARUM is holding the power card  Mayweather wants 50/50 purse...

They got Mosley to fold .. and go to 143 and take 40 percent... this is a great "soap opera" unfolding...now we get Cotto who ARUM wants, which I feel is a PLOY.. because why would ARUM put his two  BEST MONEY fighters against each he would lose one.

I study psychology (on the side).. I find what Mosley is doing is the best.. (SUBMITTING) meaning agree to all their terms, look desperate to BOB ARUM and if the fight gets signed.. Mosley  wins in the end (getting what HE wants).

Mayweather finds himself on the opposite spectrum... he has a power card.. but NOT as powerful as Pacmans power card...

Pac-man has been amazing.. the past 3 fights, while Floyd has bee doing wrestling and other JUNK.. people remember him "retiring" saying the sport is boring.. and he no longer has in interest.

People only remember yesterday and TODAY - Pac-man is TODAY..

Will Mayweather who has never submitted before, submit and take LESS Money, or let ARUM dictate the terms?

Because Mayweather  now NEEDS this fight, because he only took Marquez (who did amazing against  Pac-man TWICE)  to entice Pac-man  into a fight.

Now Cotto, last night he did everything wrong and right, which is what makes him a draw.. he shows he can easily be hit and hurt yet GIVE BACK almost like a Rocky Movie...Torres was the best one, and last night he did another Rocky Impression.. to me that makes him MORE marketable.. but will Bob Arum pit BOTH of his MONEY fighters against each other, while risking losing ONE?

I know this is a long write up, but let's use this thread as "WHO fights WHO"  guessing thread....

nutty rich, excellent write up per usual - will be quite neat to see how this thing unfolds - looked like you were on the right side of the clotty fight, just couldnt get the right call from the green group of judges - trella's numbers were laffable for sure

I can't see Pacman and Mayweather EVER happening. I really can't. I don't think Floyd really wants this fight and is pricing himself out. Why announce a comeback and then do all you can to avoid your main P4P rival? One word EGO!

Mayweather can't hack the fact Pacman is the new Boxing King. He announces his return on the eve of Pacman v Hatton to try steal some thunder. I do think the injury is Legitmate. Marquez is a marquee name BUT I think after watching the Cotto fight Mayweather would love to fight him. Floyd would win a EASY decision and would be a easier fight then Marquez for Floyd in my eyes. I will be interested to see how all this all pans out.

Politics and fighters like Mayweather are ruining boxing. Fighters and promoters are not giving the fans what they want. I wish Mayweather would stay retired. Instead of giving the fans the matchup we crave, he will take the fights he knows he can win and make another 20-30 million and retire again. The guy is a great boxer but I question his heart and he always seems to disappear from the big challenges. I mean can you ever see Mayweather get into the ring with a legitimate Welterweight like Paul Williams. More chances of pigs flying. Thats why when their careers are over Pacman will be remembered as an all time great and Mayweather will be remebered as a fraud. Pacman avoids no one and is willing to fight ANYONE at 140 or below. I think 147 is too much for Pacman and he shouldnt fight guys like Mosley, Mayweather or Cotto and that weight. They would have far too much of an advantage. But I guarentee you, if they come down he would fight anyone. Unlike the cocky git Mayweather. The fights that would truly test this man are Paul Williams and Pacquaio. I think Floyd would have too much for Mosley/Cotto/Marquez and he knows this. This guy just takes the fights he belives he can win and that does NOT make him a champion.

Boxing is a dieing sport because the fights the fans want to see are not happening. I admire fighters like Carl Froch/Miguel Cotto. They are limitied but they are throwback fighters, warriors who want to fight anyone anywhere and prove themselves. Then you have fighters like Hopkins and Mayweather who price themselves out of fights they don't want and still have the audacity to call themselves legends. Look at the all fights we are missing! Pavlik v Abramham is a disgrace that this won't happen anytime soon. There is no reason whatsoever why this fight shouldn't happen. Of course Politics and silly demands get in the way. You got fighters like Chad Dawson, Mikkel Kessler. No one wants to fight them yet they can't make a fight with each other!?. You have so many good fighters at 140/147 yet we are not getting the matches we the fans truly want to see.

Floyd Mayweather Jr is not "Money"...

Apparently JMM vs Floyd ticket sales were going poorly proving Floyd cannot sell on his own. Some fighters like Felix Sturm or Chaevez Jr can fill stadiums by fighting anybody but not Floyd!

Cotto is going to need time to heal so Pacman should take a quick filler fight with someone who has zero chance to injure him. Paulie Malignaggi and Chaevez Jr come to mind. Chaevez Jr in particular has drawing power far greater than his rating as a dangerous opponent.

Certainly, I think If I were Pacman, I'd Ice someone like Chaevez Jr then go on to Cotto. Mayweather should be left for last, just before he heads off to politics as he will LOSE.

    1). Fight a weakling

2). Fight Cotto at 143.5 (halfway)

    3). Fight another weakling

4). Take mega payday with Floyd

    5). (optional step)

For final opponent, up & comer from the Philipines who really need the boost to his profile.

Bet huge against himself by TKO, take a dive, make a fortune, benefit the other guy greatly by saying "I'm too old now but fighter XYZ here seems to be the future"

6). Retire and go to politics

Well sh*t look what happens when you cut cut & paste from a word document...you get the wrong color turning up for your text.

Anyway, in the future, after Manny wins the elections, the Philipinos will soon see that punchdrunk Freddy Roach is really the person running their country, they will rebel and assassinate Pacman but will still always remember him fondly as their greatest sporting icon.

Mayweather is still going to fight Marquez. Most likely we'll get Cotto/Pac in October or November.
