I would not be shocked if late next year we get a rematch.

Cotto will move up in weight to junior middleweight and take Yuri Foreman's title. Win or lose against Mayweather, I think Pacquiao will want to go for that 8th title and I can't think of any other big name junior middleweight other than Cotto.

Probably a long shot for this to happen, but if Cotto looks good in a fight or two, I wouldn't put it past Bob Arum to try to sell this rematch to the world.

Cotto has said he is only fighting once or twice more.  If he fights more than that it will be for a paycheck against older fighters or straight bums.

Cotto is done, if he does fight Yuri take Yuri Foreman, Cotto is damaged goods, how the commission would let him fight again is beyond me.

I know it sounds like a bold statement, believe me Cotto is DONE, he may fight again in the Garden for another payday..

If he fights Yuri Foreman I fear for his health, first 154 weight, and the fact that YURI isn't a puncher means Cotto will be battered for many rounds.

Sometimes it's better to take a big fight against a power puncher at the end of your career... a few good hits and "Good Night".

Cotto has fought everyone I have respect for him, and out of respect I hope he doesn't fight Yuri foreman.. again last thing you need is a head beating from a NON- Heavy puncher.

Cotto has given enough to the sport, if I were him.. or Arum I'd take a cupcake to fight... at the Garden and call it quits.

Take a page out of Ricky Hatton's BOOK...15 million in less than 6 minutes... and no one says a word :-)

Don't take a head beating out of pride. Yuri foreman is the last guy you ever want in the ring with him. Not because of power, but because LACK of power.

Watch Cotto Talk his brain damage is already there.

Please post back when the line comes up, and take Yuri foreman to the bank :)

Cotto would beat Foreman very easily. In fact, he would probably knock him out. A half damaged Cotto is still much better than Foreman.

    Bah don't be silly.

Cotto will drag his career beyond two fights because he will still be making more money than he would doint anything else.

He might not become the next Hollyfield but he will fight on.

Cotto v Pacman II will never happen as there is no public interest in it after that lopsided bashing.

I can't believe Pacman will fight Mayweather at 147 as he demanded 145 from Cotto. Unbelievable madness.

I wouldn't go as far as saying he is a joke.

He may be a has been now.. BUT... he fought very good fighters. Yes he lost his last 3 (Clottey got robbed) and 2 by KO.

He's a shot fighter now, but he needs to be given credit for taking tough fights... and winning some of them.

He was never a pure skilled boxer. He always took too many punches and it finally has caught up with him.

I do believe if he takes anymore tough fights not only will he have brain damage but ruin what good resume he did have.  Get out Cotto while you still have your health.   v

Please tell me how he would beat him easily? Also how he would maybe knock him out... he would be moving UP in weight. Personally since moving up to 147 how many KO's does he have?

Yuri may be lacking power but at 154 the shots will be heavier and he will box circles around Cotto.

Cotto will be stopped on Cuts by round 8-10.

Yuri may not be a exciting fighter, but the exact fighter Cotto doesn't need, maybe 4 years ago.

Cotto is done, he may be able to MILK the garden but against any decent caliber opponent- BET against HIM :)

YURI EASY WIN- Great thing Cotto would probably be favored because of his name.

Cotto took the same path as Fernando Vargas, too many tough fights back to back to back..and look how quickly they both faded.

Cotto is shot. It looks like Manny's camp is going to go after Yuri now.

No...just no on cotto rematch. No disrespect to Cotto, i think the guy is a warrior but it is past his prime. I rather see PACMAN fight the winner of Mosley-Berto fight or a Fight with another warrior name  Bradley at 140lbs.

I agree Bradley would be a good match .. this guy is really coming into his own.

He has all the tools to be great, his only flaw is he tends to be over aggressive at times and leaves himself open, but that's only about 10 % of the time.

He can punch, he can jab, he can go to the body, and best of all he can ADJUST like a technician can.

I've seen him be over aggressive and get clocked by Kendall holt with a massive punch by a massive puncher! He showed heart by getting up! Cannot believe he got up shows so much, then to go on a win was great.

His past 3 fights he has proven himself, I think he needs one more big name on his list.. plus there is the HBO/Showtime thing that needs to be worked out, neve seen Bradley on HBO and Pac on anything but HBO.

Would be funny is Mosley fought him, a guy convicted of using, versus a guy who is suing saying he didn't.

Since Berto has zero shot at winning and Oscar has taken this drug testing thing to a whole new level (would be so Ironic if Mosley stepped in and fought) (and requested a blood test lol)!

I think one more big fight and Bradley can draw a PPV.. although right now he would be the best real opponent to fight at 140/147 if Arum/Oscar cannot stop this feuding.

I'd rather watch Bradley vs Pacquio 100X more than Yuri Foreman or Malingagii  but when was the last time we seen boxing give us what we want?

replying from the title, i dont think cotto pacquiao deserves a rematch... if the first 4 rounds were all the same as for the entire match then i would agree.

i like a marquez fight first to really put a stop on the controversy and maybe if marquez is ko'd less than 6 rounds then mayweather has one less bargaining point to why he is better.

next is mosley i suppose... but too bad mosley already signed for a fight? he should have waited... hehe

as a pacquiao fan, i dont like him fighting just for the sake of history, i mean even if it is a big leap of a weight, its still the fighter who determines if it is a credible fight or not. and in my opinion even if foreman is the bigger champ at that division, as a fighter he would not be able to live up to the hype of being the champion in the ring.

Cotto is not done. He is not 'damaged goods'. Cotto is a Beast and is still very good and dangerous as a fighter. If the fight was at 147 I think the fight with Manny would be a different story. Anyone stating any different has no clue. If Cotto fights his way back against top compitition he could deserve a rematch with Manny, and a rematch at 147 or higher only. Dropping weight to fight elite fighters is just not a good idea.

Did you see Cotto's face at the end of the fight???? He absorbed alot of punishment (even taking into consideration that Pacquiao backed off starting in about round 9). The look he gave Kenny Bayless right before the stoppage was priceless.  It should have been stopped 2-3 rounds earlier. The fight was clearly over after the 2nd knockdown at the end of Round 4. Once Manny stopped showing Miguel respect like he did early on, it was "game over". Manny is getting better with every big fight he notches in his belt. With that being said, I don't see how a "rematch" could go any other way. ( And I personally like Cotto. he's a good dude )

Now, what was somewhat intriguing was that Manny actually got hit in that fight. Something he didn't have to endure vs. ODLH and the "FatMan." But he proved he could take a legitimate welterweight punch and still be able to dominate. Simply a testiment to how well-rounded of a fighter he has become.

With all that being said, and as the biggest Pac-man fan on the planet, I don't want to see him fight Floyd. But that's a discussion for another thread.

I could see Mosley/Cotto rematch WAY before Pac-man/Cotto.

Cotto is a class act, tons of heart. He's fought the best won some and lost some.

But fact remains is Pac-man whipped him, his style doesn't suit Cotto (it's why Pac took the fight).

I have nothing but respect for Cotto, but he has NOT been the same since the Margarito hand wrapping fight.

i don't think that there would be any cotto-pacman rematch. Because the way their fight ended last year was a total mess. I mean after cotto got knockedown, he was just running almost the entire fight..The people wouldn't be interested to watch him against pacquiao again.
