All plays and units wagered posted 2006 Results (March-July): +19.2 units (+$1,920)
Last Week: +4.72 units (+$472)
2007 to date: +39.20 units (+$3,920)
Time for the usual Christmas season boxing lull. Not much happening for me this weekend.
1.4 units on under 9.5 rounds (-140) in Huerta-Alicea Huerta has been a different fighter as of late and has shown nice pop in his last two fights. Alicea appears to be a spent bullet and his inactivity is not a good thing at 35 years old.
.5 of a unit on over 7.5 rounds (+105) in Diaz-Linares Linares is more boxer than puncher. Diaz is crafty and should extend this fight to the championship rounds.
1 unit on Lopez (+115) vs Matsuda I think you see redemption in Cancun tomorrow for Lopez. I was impressed with Lopez even in his title losing effort in hostile territory to Chi, who is tough as nails. I had that fight 7-5 for Chi. Lopez learns from his mistake and returns the favor tomorrow night.
1.8 units on Green (-180) vs Drews Drews struggles with pressure, something that Green brings heavily. The fight is in Australia, I think Drews has a similar experience to his last trip there as long as the referee doesn't allow him to hold all night, which he will try to do.
I'm hoping that streamtv picks up the Cancun PPV, but right now it doesn't look like they are.

I agry w/ everything 'cept your 'pez pick Fullbrights (which I'm not on either way). Resume tripped me up on that. I added Solis, & the 100% KO machine EddieV, & have A2 as a leftover closer.

Good start to the weekend Fullbrights. After watching the first 2 rounds, it looked like it was going to be a short night. Neither man was backing down initially, but Huerta had Alicea running for his life in the 3rd.

Huerta has been on a nice little mid-career run of late. I think he actually gained more notoriety by getting screwed with that Kid Diamond decision then he would have if he would have gotten the proper decision call.

The over cashes by 40 seconds, but that's all that matters. Diaz was actually turning the tide a bit in the fight after getting knocked down in the 4th, but Linares land a big right hand to end things suddenly in the 8th.

Tough break, I had Lopez up 6-2 through 8 rounds and you have to think the judges had similar scores with Lopez being the hometown guy. The ringside doctor stopped the fight due to a cut above Lopez's left eye after the 8th round. The cut came from a right hand in the 5th, so it was the right call, but a very tough break as Lopez was still in control even after suffering the cut.
I did see something that I had never seen before though, the doctor stops the fight due to the cut, Lopez protests and answers the bell then proceeds to throw a punch and mimic to Matsuda to come on. A lot of turmoil in the ring after the fight, I didn't know what decision was about to be announced.

Valero does it again, this time in the 3rd. I will let him continue to hold down my avatar. That said Zavaleta wasn't any opposition though, he looked terrified from the opening bell.
Is it too much to ask for Valero-Pacquiao? That's a wet dream type matchup for diehard fight fans. What a war it would be. It probably couldn't happen until late 2008, but hopefully Arum will set the wheels in motion to have at the Wynn in Macau because Valero probably still won't be able to fight in the US. He does have GBP again lobbying behind the scenes for him to get cleared, so who knows.

That went pretty dog-gone well. 2 of the 3 Fullbrights plays that I agryed with hit, AlexAurther closed the previous week up in a winning (though shaky closing) way, the Stoppage-Machine did his thing, the heavy chalker Solis did his. I can hang with that.

Didn't all 3 that you rolled with hit? Nice week.

Dang, my bad to the good. I musta misread BoxRec when I looked that up; I thought it said Green did n-0-t get the scorecard nod. H's-bells, that will do even mo' work for me.
Nice eye Fbs, & thx for looking out!
