I forget how many fights there were that night (maybe 5), but there wasn't a single KO. Every fight went the distance. Mike Marrone was the lead undercard.

Well congrats Kirkland backers. Good call. Guess the "Yes Ma'am warrior" proved me wrong. I do think the eye hampered Julio along with his conditioning which was obviously not there after just three rounds. Guess that strength and conditioning coach didn't do much of anything. I was surprised at Kirkland's ability to take some of the shots that Julio landed clean.
Come on Kellerman, was that really a "sensatonal" performance? Guess that term gets thrown around a lot now. HBO is acting like Julio was on death's door.

Lol, yeah at least this time they didn't bust out the latex filled glove.
Seriously what manager/promoter let's their fighter go into the ring without a guy in his corner that knows how to use an enswell? Add Duva's Main Events to the list along with Don King.

1.5 units on Julio (+245) vs Kirkland 2.5 unis on Julio (+250) vs Kirkland 1 unit on Julio ITD (+541)
Strong take, strong loss. Rough main event to end the weekend.
Lost .60 of a unit for the week.
Got the parlays through to next week minus the Guerrero no actions giving them smaller payouts.
1.25 units to win 3.52 Ortiz (-440) Braehmer (-900) Graf (-650) Demers (-900) Khan (-135) Enzo (-975) Klitschko (-735)
.45 of a unit to win 3.22 Ortiz (-440) Kirkland-Julio under 8.5 (-185) Braehmer (-900) Graf (-650) Demers (-900) Khan (-135) Klitschko-Gomez under 7.5 (-135)

I'm glad to see you're on Khan. . . that was my lean as well. Trying to figure out what the line is going to do before I take it though, I think it might be able to go a little lower just based on the Barrera name alone getting late action.

Julio fought a very stupid fight. He wasted a lot of energy backpedaling from round 1 on. His best chance would have been to stand his ground & trade bombs. Kirkland gives up his southpaw edge by coming inside all the time. I am still not impressed with his fighting style & lack of head movement. Eventually this must catch up to him against world class opponents. He is vastly overrated considering what he has acomplished so far in the Boxing world. Let HBO keep telling everyone how great he is & we will cash at a huge price against the right opposition. It's just a matter of time.

I disagree. He would have been knocked out even sooner. As far as fading Kirkland - I would think twice. He is ripped, full of energy, and can give and take a punch.

The only way Kirkland gets beat is by fighting a PURE Technically Sound BOXER with a PUNCH. You can bet against him all you want, but as long as he has the right man put in front of him he won't lose.
He had a BUM in front of HIM JOEL JULIO was exposed by Carlos Quintana in '06, he has fought NOBODY and every time he remotely stepped up he has LOST.
Kirkland hasn't exactly fought anyone either, but he's explosive and people remember that. People are blinded by the fact he is fighting bums and one day he will have to fight a world class fighter who will beat him. Give him credit he has power and he has smart handlers, HBO doesn't give PEANUTS for main events, yes not a PPV fight but these paychecks add up for fighting NO ONE!
