That will leave a mark.

"DaVarryl's right has a quirky delivery, kind of a hitch in it, but it has some power when he lands it with his weight properly behind it; I was ringside when I saw it make Kilt quit in the corner." Uh? He was down in the 4th, but it was more of an off balance KD. The fight was stopped due to a cut caused by a butt. | |

I was ringside, and though some don't like to concede the point ringside does allow for a better perspective than TV, with it's chosen camera angles, jaded announcers and biased commentators. DaVaryl started slow, wary of Klit, and the crowd booed him. Then he started to land in the third and gained confidence and he became the agressor. It was a weird turnaround in the crowd - they cheered DaVaryl now and started booing Klit because he was backing up and wouldn't engage. Then he got caught, and knocked down. And the crowd went nuts (the outside atmosphere always adds an extra energy for some reason; outside, at Caesar's, like the old days, the way it should be on a muggy Saturday Vegas fight night). I've been to a hundred fights, 99% of the time the crowd knows when it might be stopped. Have never seen a more bewlidered bunch than when they stopped this one, no one knew why. When they announced it the boos really started and Klit couldn't get out of there fast enough. My date for the night jumped out of her seat and yelled "You quit just like your brother, you bastard!" People around her applauded, I was kind of proud - I thought she was only going along to appease me, had no idea she used to watch with her father and knew any history. Anway, he quit because he was ahead on points and his manager told the doc to stop it - why take more shots when you can get out of it using the scorecards? It was a smart move. I was also at the sports book windows afterwards, when security had to come in because a group of angry bettors (I wasn't with them) were screaming "fix" because of their round prop bets. A very memorable night at the fights . . ." Basic boxing - your opponents left eye is closed, you circle to your right and stab away with your jab, but Moal was clueless. Knew he didn't have much skill going in, but does it really take skill to beat a quitter/head case/stiff old man like Golata? I guess so, and Mola has none. Christ, Andrew's eye looked like a horizontal vagina . . . |
