I am telling you Margarito has less then 0% of beating Pacquaio.
People have short memories. What they want to see is often times different than reality. And to Margarito backers who are giving reasons as to HOW and WHY this fight could be competitive......I implore you to do the following:
Rewatch Shane Mosley's annihilation of this man. That fight not only took years off Margo's life, it ended his career.
He is a "dead" fighter.
Manny might not be great in his present form or so the media is leading us to believe (ahem...Bob Arum). But he won't need to be. He'll look dominant looking average.......remember, 5 - 1 wasn't originally posted as a mistake.

Like the 5-1 Margarito was dealing to Mosley?

Actually that fight was between 3 and 4 to 1.....but I hear you.
Completely different animal here though. In January of 09' Margarito's stock had never been higher and the public (the same public that watched him walk Cotto down) viewed him as invincible at 147lbs and was all over his nutts. That price was completely undeserveing against an opponent of SSM's caliber. But again, perception was Shane was old and about to take the plunge. This fight is completely opposite, as the dog is viewed as a "live" one instead of the "dead" one that he is.....

Good luck to you too. I could see Manny moving around and hitting Margo with pot shots for 12 rounds like he did against Clottey and winning every round. However, I don't feel that will happen because Margarito will close the distance (even if it means face first) regardless of what it takes. Removing that possibility means Manny will have to stand and fight. He might have won those exchanges against Cotto, but I don't see where he dominates these exchanges or even gets the best of them.
I'm really starting to believe we'll see Margarito use his natural size to outbang Manny and make him look his true size. Manny has been able to use pure talent (and careful selection) to avoid the fact he is in way over his head (literally) in the size department. He'll always be able to get off first and avoid big shots unless Margo can get him on the ropes or sucker him into a slugfest. But can Manny get in a solid punching range against Margo without putting himself in real danger? I don't think so. I don't see Manny out banging Margo on the inside, that's for sure.
As far as the theory that Arum/Roach wouldn't put their cash cow at risk... there is no more milk in said cow. No Mayweather fight, no milk. Manny being Congress Manny, no milk. No options were left, so Manny got his chance to really show himself against a "big" fighter and Arum gets to double dip on the promotion angle.

In November 10, PACQUIAO's stock had never been higher and the public (the same public that watched him BEAT Cotto down) viewed him as invincible and was all over his nutts. That price was completely undeserving against an opponent of MARGARITO's caliber. But again, perception was that MARGARITO was old and about to take the plunge.
So is it REALLY all that different? JK. Good luck buddy.

What makes a perfect storm? If all the reports (including straight the ones straight from Roach himself) coming out of Pacquiao's camp have are valid, is now the time to fade Pacquiao? Maybe, maybe not, but I'm starting to feel all signs point to yes.
1. How much did the Mayweather drama take from Pacquaio?
2. When is Manny going up too high in weight/size for his own good?
3. How good is Margarito, assuming that the wraps were never used in any other fights other than the Mosley debacle?
4. Are all the pieces in place for Manny to get defeated and shift all of his focus to his "real" job in congress? Is a loss in this fight the excuse he needs to finally step away?
I'm very interested in hearing your thoughts on these questions. Fire away.

You can't assume that Margarito was using the wraps before the Mosley fight. The hands are checked by a commission rep and a rep from the opposing corner. Maybe he did have the loaded wraps for the Cotto fight and everyone was lax in their responsibilities. No one knows either way, for certain.

I dont' know about all that, but I do know that Mosley had 100X the energy and vigor against Margarito than he had against Mayweather, that's for sure. Mosley had zero in the tank past the third round against Floyd and it wasn't because he was working hard or getting caught with shots.
