First off I wish everyone a great Thanksgiving with their families. It's hard to top stuffing your face with turkey and watching football all day with your loved ones. I am only down on two plays as of now......
2 units on over 9.5 rounds (+120) in Vargas-Mayorga Going against public perception here; I am sure most expect this to be a quick night with all the smack talk and the styles of the two. If money pours in on the under a bit more I might take out some more on this if it nears +150. These aren't the same guys we watched 4-5 years ago. With the fight being at 166 lbs. I just don't think either guys power will do much damage. I think Vargas will be sluggish at this weight and not too active, plus I think he takes Mayorga's shot just fine. Mayorga hasn't shown power north of 147 lbs. and think he reciprocates and takes Vargas's shots just fine also. An overall rip off of a PPV if you ask me, they won't be getting a cent from me. Don't buy in to the smack talk either, they have to sell this fight somehow; my money says they give each other a pat on the back or hug after the fight. I support solid PPV's and head to the computer for the rest.
.60 of a unit on Virgil Hill (+425) vs Arslan Arslan is pretty sluggish and can be outboxed, this is one thing Hill can still do. Of course you have to be leery of a home country decision though.
Looking to play Karmazin in some fashion when odds are offered for that one.

I agry on (over) the Hill Fullbrights. I saw how pissed off VH was during the pressor last week due to the Marketing Poster snub.
Almost agry on made in H as well. As he was real close to my boy status w/ me, but he got caught up in the good life a bit too much, got too political for his own good. I like the addition of Freddie Roach, as RK seemed to be getting a bit stale vs. the Spinks jinx. Alejandro can bang & he can be Stopped. So I'm looking at a Total or 2 ITD plays, if the $ is right.
Have KC out as a closer from last week, his guy is kinda a nut, so you never know in a high velocity slugging match who catches whom 1st. Gonna let that one lay, as the P.Dub look-a-head factor bothers me here a touch.
Lottsa Universium/KPK/Deutschland influnce chalk. Inkin, Zsolt, Ulrich, Regina. All with the obvious homecourt advantages and associated scoring maths in their favor over there.

Yeah the story lines that Fightnews posts out of Germany are pretty comedic and really irrelevant most of the time. I see now that Hill has gotten his wish and been added to the poster
In my opinion Karmazin won that Spinks fight, that was some very questionable scoring in St. Louis.
Please tell me you are not worried about Cintron closing anything. He is a 50-1 fave for a reason; gigantic class difference between he and Feliciano.
Ulrich and Regina actually fight next week. I already have a bet in against Ulrich as posted in my futures, in my opinion he is close to calling it a career; even to the naked eye his decline has been very evident over the last 2-3 years.

FYI Bigs, the Ulrich fight has been taken of the board at 5dimes. I guess his fight may have been scrapped when Dzinziruk's bout was.
Very surprised that the Karmazin odds are so wide.
A couple more plays for me......
.75 of a unit on over 9.5 rounds (+130) in Baldomir-Perez Since when is Baldo considered as having a punch at 154, he didn't really have one at 147. Plus, you have to question is desire having announced his retirement after the Forrest loss.
.50 of a unit on Trejo (+210) vs B. Pac I have always thought that Bobby was crap and still do. He definitely got the short end of the gene pool.

Your analysis of the Mayorga-Vargas o/u is very solid. In fact, it's so compelling that I've been wavering on whether to make it one of my bets for the weekend. But I came across an article where Mayorga said he put $1 million on himself to win by KO, and that seems to hurt the over wager, as Mayorga could use all his energy going for the KO early, and then he could just give up if it doesn't happen. Any thoughts on this new information, Fullbrights? Amazing that this is one of the only remaining sports where it's not taboo to wager on yourself.

Let's look at this, Mayorga says that he put $1 Million dollars on himself by KO. First of all I think pretty much all of what Mayorga says is to sell tickets and pretty much BS. Secondly, this is his last big payday in my opinion and I have heard that he really needs the money; I doubt he is risking $1 Million of a payday which I believe is around 2-3 million. Lastly and most importantly, what book would take that bet? A million dollars on a boxing prop, I don't think so. Most big Vegas books have $50,000 caps on football spreads (higher for celebs), but that is only because they have so much action coming in where they can attempt to balance it out. No book would ever put themselves at risk like this. I would be very surprised if a book would take over a $25,000 bet on this even for a high profile guy or athlete like he is. I bet you couldn't find a higher limit then 5 G's out there for props on this fight. I could maybe see them taking 50K on a matchup with money pouring in like Mayweather-DLH, but not anything of this caliber. Trust me, it is not even remotely true. In related news, I just saw Bigfoot in my backyard.
Both are pretty much going to be light heavies by fight time. I think the pace slows drastically after the first half of the fight and Vargas sticks to boxing from the outside. Something crazy may happen the first few rounds, but I am banking it doesn't.
Good luck with your plays.

I agry on your added play Fullbrights. Mrs. Pac-Man is overrated, and he appears to be nearly spent as well. Baldy is no puncher, has a great Chin, but his guy does not look real durable to me. Gonna stay away other than Baldy as a side. Also gonna try the pts.handicap against Mrs. Pac-Man.
Happy Thanksgiving evey1! bigeiii

Fullbrights, you're probably right about that Mayorga betting crap not being true. GL on the over tonight -- you've done a great job analyzing it, and I think you'll bring in the $$$

Didn't Mayorga also say he bet $1 million to KO De La Hoya or was it Trinidad? Who cares what this guy says; he's just selling PPV and doing a good job.

Not sure if even a salesman like Mayorga can sell this PPV to the public. I'm not paying for this crap, and I hope no one buys it at that ridiculous price. I need at least one significant matchup in order to justify buying the PPV. Like Fullbrights said, this one should be viewed on the computer.

I've bought some bad PPV in the past, but this one doesn't even get a flinch from me. The undercard is very soft, and the main event has stinker written all over it. They've lost 4 out of 5 by KO between the two of them. Mayorga is an aging, punched out, smoker. Vargas is overweight and strength-sapped from his post PED days. I can't come up with an angle on this fight worth giving. I certainly would give 2-1 on vargas, but i'd need more than +160 on mayorga, making it a no play.
my two cents, fwiw.
Good luck you guys - i'll be up late to watch the Heels tip at midnite, will see if anyone has made a dollar off this crapfest then.
Drink up.

.75 of a unit on over 9.5 rounds (+130) in Baldomir-Perez I agreed with the judge who had it a draw and like I said he still doesn't have a punch. I think Baldomir is mentally done as a fighter. A very tough night for the 30-1 fave.
.50 of a unit on Trejo (+210) vs B. Pac .60 of a unit on Trejo +6.5 Points Handicap (-115) I know it is impossible to know, but these bets sure were looking good until the shoulder injury. I will continue to fade Bobby P., he really doesn't have much to offer, especially laying chalk against anyone halfway decent.
