Small is being groomed for big money fights in the UK. He has some power and is a good little fighter. Small has ko'd his last 5 opponents, including an impressive win over Matthew Hall.Thomas McDonagh is your typical "paper tiger." Sure, he's 34-2 and has never been stopped. However, the majority of his fights were six rounders and he has only 7 ko's. Think they put Small in with this guy to get a win over a guy that has a good record and has never been stopped. Small walks through him and probably ends this one before the 10th.
Leyva vs Concepcion over 6.5, +170, .5 units.
Leyva is probably being brought in to go to sleep. Then again, maybe not. He has fought some of the best in Sosa, Gorres, Calderon. He has lost 9 times and been stopped in 5 of those 9 defeats. He does have some things that could give Concepcion some trouble.
He is 4 inches taller and a southpaw. He has the experience and might hang around in this title fight. Also, if Concepcion is giving him a boxing lesson, why would he press the issue and take chances?
Saturday:
Andrade ITD, +400, 1 unit.Funeka +230, 3 units. Funeka/Andrade ITD Parlay, 1 unit to win 13.78
Andrade ITD at +400 seems like the only play in the rematch. They did a very smart thing putting him in with Tsypko. He got another 12 rounds against a southpaw. He still got hit way too often and if Tsypko had some power he might not have been able to walk through him. However, he did what he needed to do and should be ready for the "24" rematch. Bute should have gotten some rounds before fighting Andrade again. He didn't and it wouldn't shocked me if he gassed again. Also, will he be right in the head? Too many questions for me. I have Andrade ITD for one unit right now.
Funeka at +230 - what a steal. He dominated Campbell but the knockdowns cost him the fight. He is a pressure fighter that will be at least 6 inches taller than Guzman. Guzman doesn't have the power to keep Funeka off of him. Only Guzman's second fight at lightweight I believe. I expect Funeka to win a very wide UD. <---- If his chin isn't confirmed to be glass.

I agree Andrade ITD, the ref is Benjy Esteves Jr, if he cuts down on half the holding of Bute (that's all he does is quick combos and HOLD).
Stamina is clearly an issue, he was tired after 9 (watch the fight) I provided a LINK in another thread.
Andrade knows if he has a fair ref he will KO Bute, and bad thing is... BUTE knows it too.
Hard to NOT take which is now +352 (small play) when the writing is on the wall. Only the ref can change this outcome like the other ref did in the first fight.
Don't known enough about Guzman, know he's a good boxer, but he FAILED to make weight for a fight, and hasn't been heard of since.
So that's a no play for me as I don't know enough (clearly you do and as always good luck and hope you win all your bets)!
Again Good luck,

Bute fought and knocked out Zuniga last March...5 months after his fight with Andrade. 8 months is a bit of a layoff, but not a deal breaker imo.
Whats wrong with his head?

The fact that the odds are so long on Funeka winning a decision, is very telling. +700, good Lord. I dont think Funeka has ever faced someone as skilled as Guzman though. Guzman is a great fighter. Very slick.

His fight with Zuniga was less than 4 rounds. That isn't "work." His issue in the first fight was he ran out of steam about halfway through the fight, or Andrade broke him down. I would say it was a little of both. Getting 4 rounds against a can isn't solving an obvious problem. Andrade got another 12 rounds with a southpaw and one a very one sided decision.
What's wrong with his head? Maybe nothing, maybe a lot. He does know that Andrade had him dead to rights and defeated. He also knows that he can be hurt by Andrade. That is going to affect him in some way. Will it make him better for this fight? Maybe. Will he have the thoughts of an ass whooping in his head? Maybe.

Nate Campbell is much better than Guzman. Actually, that is why Funeka and Campbell fought, because Guzman was "ill" and ducked Campbell. Guzman is slick but he is going to have a very hard time figuring out the Funeka's size.

Still, 4 rounds or not, he went through the motions of training and competing. Might not be a lot of rounds, but its better than not training/competing at all imo.
Whats your take on Guzman.Funeka?

I'm having a hard time seeing Funeka getting the W here. If Campbell at his age puts your down more than once you got problems.
The height won't be a problem, its the reach and Funeka is only running w/72"...same as Humberto Soto.
The height will be a problem - it's all about angles. Funeka's problem is that super thin frame. Guzman has to go to the body early and often. If he doesn't land something big early in this fight he is in for a long night. Funeka should will probably win the majority of the rounds (as in minutes) but will get hit the the bigger shots. Could be a very tough fight to score.
Keep in mind this is only Funeka's second fight in the states and nobody knows anything about him other than Campbell beat him. This really adds to his value tonight. I had Funeka winning the fight with Campbell, as did another judge. If he avoided the late knockdown he wins via clear decision on all cards. He is very solid but got tagged by looping shots - the same kind of shots that Guzman throws more often than not.
Also, I have no problem with a Bute via points play. Just not my choice given the circumstances going into the rematch.
