At first I was unsure of what to do in this game but after thinking it over I believe the UNDER is the best play of the night and I'll also be mixing in the STAMPS. The AL's looked absolutely horrible last week with 75% of their possessions (15 of 20) ending in 2 and outs......thats pathetic. Now I don't believe they will be as futile this week but I do think the team is undergoing some growing pains. They have a new system on either side of the ball as well as plenty of new players AND coaches. I believe the new head coach is a huge downgrade for them. If Tressman was still around I think the transitions would be going a lot quicker and smoother. And although I don't know much about the new coach, almost everything I have heard has been bad news. So until I see the old A.C zipping the ball around the field to Richardson and Green I'm not expecting them to be throwing a 30 spot up on the board.
On the other side of the ball the STAMPS are without their star q.b. Now they will have a more than capable backup at pivot in Kevin Glenn but I don't see this CAL offense running with the same efficiency as it would with Tate taking the snaps. And with Glenn behind centre I would look for the STAMPS to give a ton of touches to their great non import rb John Cornish. That will help take some pressure off Glenn and also take minutes off the clock. And with MON only allowing 65 yards per game on the ground I could see Cornish having a good game but nothing like what he did against BC in the first game of the year.
I'm expect the AL's to simplify their game plan a bit with slants and quick passes and I look for CAL to move the ball on the ground. So with that I believe we're going to see a tight low scoring game that could come down to a late kick to win it.
