My stats/analysis indicate Gonzaga is about 55 - 60% to win su
but I have NC STATE rated for about 80 - 85% to win su....of course NC State carries the heavier moneyline than Gonzaga

Since revamping my capping methods after taking a week off, from Feb 13:
WOMEN's NCAA: 36 - 13
*If you prefer to view that w/L result by the internet scoring standard for comparing records fairly (ie, as if all picks were to win one unit only!) then by that standard the net units would be +23.10

So, Iowa State is ranked 3th in the entire country....playing a weaker opp
and so far they are shooting 1 for 12 and losing by 7 after 8.5 mins......sigh.....

Make that 2 for 4 ....but now losing by 8

I took CYCLONES *partly* because this is a virtual home game for them.
Ames, IOWA is only 2.5 hr drive away for the fans of the 5th ranked team in the nation

Well whadyaknow.....CYCLONES have improved to 6 for 21....still awful though (28.6%) for the 5th ranked team in the US....and they still trail the weaker team....

27 - 27 HT
That's more like it.
5th ranked team in the nation started 1 for 13 and down 8 pts.
Since then, they are 8 for 16 and tied the score, in what is a virtual home game for the CYCLONES.

I very well could lose this bet. No guarantees. Upsets happen!
But the biggest reason I took a bet on the WOLFPACK here is because I truly believe Oakland's win over the much higher rated Kentucky Wildcats was a classic "one-of"
If you've read my stuff before in any sport, you'll recall I use this term frequently - and with success.
It's a feel goo story for Oakland for sure. Taking nothing away their remarkable win......but it WAS remarkable. Kentucky was off a little, and Goulke hit an unlikely 10 from the arc to steal a close one against a better team.
But will they do the same thing two games in a row?
We all know that every couple years there's an unsuspecting/UNLIKELY underdog team that pushes into the Elite Eight. Fun to watch! But just because it happens occasionally does not mean it will here too.....The fact is, the feat is rare, because defeating two much higher rated teams in a row is also RARE - even in the tournament.
Happens, yes, but rare.
I believe it won't happen tonight. Oakland Grizzlies will put up a helluva fight of course and may even keep it close, but at the end of the day, the higher rated team advances here.

Leaning Doo-qwez-nee to cover the excessively large spread.
But I have Illini winning. However the ML is waaaaaaay too large to risk. Will need a close half to bring the moneyline on Illinois down enough to be worth the risk then possible go for a middle opp!

Furthermore, imo the law of averages suggest here that the star of the OAKLAND win over Kentucky, Guolke hitting 10 from the arc, won't repeat that, and will be fortunate to score 4 or 5.....Missing those extra points will be a factor....
Well Grizzlies are indeed keeping it close early in 2H!
