South Carolina women's basketball standout Ashlyn Watkins was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and battery and kidnapping following an incident Saturday on the school's campus, court records show.

Watkins, a junior forward from Columbia, was a key reserve on the Gamecocks' national championship squad this past season.

She was the state's Gatorade Player of the Year in 2022 and is the top returning forward on the team.

It was coach Dawn Staley's third championship with the

Hawaii will become the 8th full-time member of the Mountain West Conference on July 1, 2026, it was announced Tuesday.

 

It's a notable change for the Mountain West, which needed an 8th full-time member to meet the NCAA minimum to remain a conference

Iowa will retire former star Caitlin Clark's No. 22 jersey
on Feb. 2 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City,
the school announced Wednesday.

The Hawkeyes will face USC that day, and Clark will be in attendance.

"I'm forever proud to be a Hawkeye, and
Iowa holds a special place in my heart
that is bigger than just basketball,"

My Lady Eagles staggered out to 3 - 10 deficit early.....

then went on a 19 - 4 run (22 - 14 lead)...
