Hi All! This post is to serve as both a warning and a reality check for all sports bettors out there. What sportsbook should an above average gambler be using? I am certainly not a sharp but I am definitely better than your average bettor when I practice discipline, which I have gotten quite good at. I have now been banned/limited by two sports books (pointsbet and bet365) and am wondering where I should turn next so that this doesn’t happen again.
for this instance at bet365, I decided to try a new book and took advantage of the new player promotion, bet 5 dollars and receive 150 in bonus bets. Well I hit the 150 bonus bet and then proceeded to turn that 150 bonus bet into 500 dollars. I woke up this morning to a blocked account, not able to place any wagers. I contacted support as I was instructed where I was told that my account was permanently blocked. I asked multiple times for reasoning and was told there are no details to provide and the decision is final. I made around 10 bets total winning I believe 7 or so of those bets.
i understand these companies are in the business of making money and can refuse service to anyone, however what I am seeing borders more along the lines of extortion than it does standard business practices. Not sure how they can get away with it but little old me is never going to change it. Where can i play without fear of limits? I have screen shots of all my bets and conversations with bet365 staff for all who cares to see it.
anyone else have similar experiences out there?

Never had a issue with any sports book and I've won quite a bit more then your stating which happen to you . Points bet was always my go to best customer service but unfortunately they got bought out by fanatics which is literally 0 on the customer service level. Do you not have DK or FD in your area ?

I tried DraftKings in the past but for some reason it is too hard for me to practice discipline on their platform, they are too good at the marketing piece I guess lol. I didn’t like the functionality of fanduel personally but I worry about the same thing there as I have heard they also will throttle consistent winning. Your experience this isn’t the case? Thank you!

Pinnacle is the only Sportsbook that won’t limit your account or ban you.the recreational books like betESPN,DraftKings, betmgm and FanDuel will limit you or ban you.out of all of the recreational books you can still make a living off FanDuel and Caesars.which both of them will limit you but their limits are good enough to still make a living

I would post more but I have the most success live betting. Probably why I am getting throttled as I have success, getting lines that are much better than at the start. Can’t tell if you’re trying to be sarcastic or not, my answer is sincere though. It all happens to fast to be able to post live wagers and have it mean anything to anyone other than myself.

Just curious on the phrase “limit you”. I have won a bunch in the past and lost a bunch in the past. I’ve played with many sports books. My biggest wager has been $500. Typically between $100 to $250 average bet. When you guys are talking about being limited, are you talking quite a bit more than $500 per play? When you’re limited, what are they capping you at per wager?

I got limited by bet365 but only on hockey, I can bet any other sport… I won like 6k on hockey in like 2 days, got a email saying following a review of your account by our trading team we regret to inform you that whilst our online service remains available to you, wagering restrictions will be applied on any future bets placed and the cash out feature is no longer available to you… so my max bet is now to win 15$ on nhl and like 6$ on college hockey… but I can still bet atleast up to 500$ on ncaab.

Our bet sizes are very similar. I didn’t even have the chance to ramp up my bets on bet365 as this all happened in the span of about 10 bets. I can’t wager at all anymore there, completely black balled. At pointsbet it happened slow. First I noticed my boosts going away, then it was my cash out options that disappeared, then the amount of games offered started to drop so that is when I left.

To be honest when I bet with offshore books I am much more loose. I almost treat it as though I might not get my winnings anyway, so what’s the difference. When I wager in the US I’m much more serious. I’m excited for my state to open betting hopefully in 2024.

Wow that is interesting but at least you got an explanation, albeit shitty. I can’t make much sense of how fast mine happened. I bet on college bball, NBA, and tennis during my 12 hour or so career at bet365 lol. I am just shocked I was able to cross that type of threshold so quickly.
