In a network chock full of idiots and windbags, a new leader has taken the position of top fool.
 
Bobby Knight picked PITT to win the Championship?
 
Are you friggin kidding me!!!
 
Did he watch any games this year other than the Big East final?
 
I'm shocked he didn't pick Syracuse or Arizona St.
They lost to Michigan St!!!

There was once a time when ESPN was a great sports outlet.  These days, ESPN has become a complete joke.  There are no edgy personalities and no hard hitting opinion.  The assholes over there are too busy sucking up to athletes and coaches to ever criticize anyone or anything.  If I was on that set when he made that prediction, I would have thrown my chair at his old ass!  Digger, Vitale and the others are to buzy gushing over Knights 'brilliance' to say or do anything meaningfull or critical. They need to take Knights member and nutsack out of their mouths, get up off their knees and man up!!!  I respect and value the opinion of some of the COVERS posters way more than any fool on shitbag ESPN.

he picked pitt bc just incase there was a slight slight slight chance they would make it he would think he would look like a god...when i saw him say pitt i knew he was trying to be one of those people that say i told you so seeee seee seeeee seeee i knew it...reality is one of the big dogs will be in the finals and have a good chance at winning it...i dont see UNC, MEMPHIS KANSAS UCLA not being in it...one of them has to win this thing or its just silly silly silly

I'm guessing you must have a perfect bracket at this point.
 
MSU is not a bad team.  Izzo can coach come tourney time.  We all know what wins tourney games....veteran guard play.   Drew Neitzel anyone.  The Spartans have just as good a chance as anyone to get to the Final Four.
 
And speaking of the number four...did you know that NO player who has played all four years for Tom Izzo has not gone to the Final Four?

I am no fan of Bob Knight, but you need to post this before Pitt lost  to have merit.  Hindsight is 20-20.
 
I mean big east is having a huge tourney and they are big east champs, not the worst logic I have ever heard.

I slammed E Baylor for touting PITT on this site before the tourney.  No hindsight here...straight up foresight...check the posts.

Mich St isn't that bad of a team, but I think he picked them just to be edgy and go against the top teams. Everyone was all over Pitt after their BE tourney run, but in all reality they aren't a top tier team. Knight would have looked like a genius if they won, but now he just looks silly.

People don't like when the experts pick the top teams to win it because they aren't going out on a limb and anyone can predict a 1 seed to win, but in reality those are the teams that should win. I think there's only a couple teams that aren't 1 seeds that have a chance to win the tourney: Stanford, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgetown and Louisville. I'd be shocked if it was a different team than one of these or the 1 seeds.

A&M nearly beat a team (playing a home game) that many consider to be the best team in the country. 
 
So much of the tourney comes down to three things coming together:
*  Coaching
*  A team that's on a hot streak
*  Match ups
 
There's a reason Izzo, Krzyzewski and Roy Williams keep making it to Final Fours.

slamming Ebaylor or a 3 time NCAA champ coach is a little different, however if you did state previously Pitt was a fraud kudos to you.....If I felt thatway I would have  wrote this very thread about knight a few days ago.

Come on Swizz........Give Michigan State some credit here....Pitt is a good team and have been on fire. They finally had everybody back and were playing good ball. They just lost to a team with a leader stepping up and hitting big shot after big shot. Michigan State is finally playing good ball at the right time

I will say in the modern era if you pick ANY TEAM to win tourney and you are right it is a good pick.
These guys that get cute and pick an off the wall selection do not have to do so. A handful of teams have a real shot at winning, and a score of teams could have a dream run and win it so JUST PICK THE WINNER BABY!!   One seed, two seed, six seed, whatever!!
 
You pick the winner you should get props, period

These guys are supposed to say who they think would win it all, not pick a low seed with a chance to humor people. The 1 seeds are the favorites for a reason and one of them should win it all. I could understand picks like Wisky, Louisville, Texas or Georgetown, but Pitt was crazy.

With that said I still respect Knight and think he is the best coach/teacher of the game of all time, he just got a little carried away with this prediction.

I'm not criticizing Knight as a coach or a basketball legend.
 
I just have a huge problem with ESPN.  The network has gone downhill of late.  There isn't one person with a set of balls on the entire network.
 
I know for a fact that I have watched more CBB than Bobby Knight this year.
 
Does he know more about coaching than me?  Hell yes!!!  But I seriously question his knowledge about the entire 2007 - 2008 season.  Seriously, how many Big East games do you think he has watched this year?

As soon as I heard Boooby Knight predict that Pitt would be National Champs, I started my search for their ouster and Izzo's Spartans were a perfect fit.......too many big bodies to bounce off of Blair/Young.
