These teams know each other well but in both mathchups the Tar Heels mostly dominated. The first matchup in January in Notre dame Carolina jumped out to a 15 point lead but gave up the lead and ultimately lost the game behind a terrible
Second half in which they gave up easy baskets and got killed on the boards. In the acc tournament Carolina just beat them down with championship defense holding the Irish to 47 points. This Carolina team has bought in to the next level defense ever since the Duke game and jr has showed in several dominating victorys especially Friday night vs a very good Indiana team. I have not been impressed with anything the Irish have shown in the tournament they have been down in every game and were only able to pull it out because their opponents have given the game away late (Michigan sf Austin and Wisconsin) the Tar Heels are a completely different animal and will not let up when they get up big. carolina wins by at least 12 here.
