Can Anyone recommend us based bank that take checks from Canada?

Stump's correct, don't try Wells Fargo. They charged what they called a "foreign collection fee" for each check. It started at $10, then they upped it to $25. Last time I tried to deposit a Canadian check they wanted $75. I told 'em to take a hike.
They also lost a 2k check of mine once, said they had no record of my deposit. I told them, "Check your surveillance footage for Monday morning, 9 am, I was first on line. You can see the transaction." Took almost a month of fighting on my part, escalating my claim up the ladder, before they finally called and said, "Oops, our error, the clerk deposited it into the wrong account." And they still took two days before crediting my account.
I took my business to Chase, they didn't charge fees if I deposited the check (for 48 hours or some short length of time, I forget) rather than cashed it. Try them, policy might still be the same.

Just cashed a 3000 bookmaker check into Wells Fargo yesterday. Became available today. Have cashed several checks, never an issue in NJ

TD Bank anything under $10,000 USD takes less than 3 days. 30% will be available immediately if your balance is over 3000. I think I know what offshore you are using

It was never an issue per se. I always got my money, which is why I posted. To say that they are a bank that will honor those Canadian checks. They just always gave me guff like I was doing something shady. I'd had that account for years and it had/has always been in good standing. Always had tons of legit money. Union job. Direct deposits. I'd go in with one of those bookmaker checks and some minimum wage bank teller would try to give me the third degree like I was running a scam. It they'd try to act like they were protecting me like someone was trying to scam me. Finally I started to have to be a little curt with them and either ask for a manager or simply say to deposit the check and let me worry about the repercussions. That was the thing, it's not even like I was trying to get cash back. I'd be straight up depositing it. Depositing a 3K check in an account with a 30K balance. Finally I just started only going to my home branch and it was fine. This is all many, many years ago.

If your current bank account balance in your account covers the check amount they generally will not put a hold on your check. Otherwise 7 business hold then it clears. The higher the balance u have the better
