Was lucky to make it out of the Florida Atlantic play with a push. They had Denver by the neck and let them off the hook only to come back in the last minute, win by one, and force a push. I guess that's why they're Florida Atlantic, because that should have been a 10-15 point win. Denver was ripe for a beating. Takes a bad bad team not to give em one in that spot. That's what FAU is. Gonzaga took care of business in a game they really needed. Love when a team does what they're supposed to do and wins a big game on the home court when they need it. Tip of the cap to Zags. Now 22-11-4 (66.67%) in the last 12 days. Things rolling along very nicely.

Made a mistake on last write up. Didn't even realize I had FAU +1, not -1. Total brain fart on my part, hadn't even noticed. That's a nice surprise. Haha was out and about all night thinking I pushed on that play. Last 12 days record is now 23-11-3 (67.6%)

Loyola (MD) +2 - It isn't enough to go against a team like Iona when their playing so well, but that's what I'm going to do here. Loyola comes into this one playing at about 65 possessions a game (261st in the nation) and their last 6 games have been played at 64, 58, 63, 60, 63, and 61 possessions. This is a team that will do everything they can not to let Iona run, and when Iona can't run they're a different team. I can't sit here and claim Loyola has the talent Iona does, because they don't. What they do have however is a nice 1-2 punch of Dylan Cormier and Erik Etherly to go with Robert Olsen who chips in about 12 per game on 46% 3 point shooting. There are many things Iona does well, defense isn't really one of them. On the defensive end their basically middle of the road and I expect Loyola to have some good looks tonight and the ability to score some points. if they can slow the tempo, control the pace, and knock down open looks on the offensive end I like their chances to get a win here.

By now i'm sure many of you are thinking, how on earth is Cornell a better team? Yale is 15-5, compared with Cornell's 8-12. Yale is 5-1 in conference, compared with Cornell's 3-3. The difference... strength of schedule where Cornell ranks 100th in the nation and Yale comes in at 275. Yale has beefed up that record playing the sisters of the poor and I for one am not fooled. Even that 5-1 conference record is bolstered by the fact they've only played one ivy league road game to this point. Looking for a reality check for Yale here.
