Tough game. Toledo does return a ton and they're my projection to win their half of the MAC, but Loyola CHI has improved and they beat Toledo at Toledo last year with just six players. Keep your eye on Toledo's best player Pearson, he did not play in their only exhibition per coach's decision. Not sure what's going on there.

what's the best online book for cbb totals?  i've used bookmaker in the past, but looks like betonline might have more totals up earlier.

Concerning Denver - I think it's a game they have realistic shot at winning. They have revenge, an experienced squad, and I'm not all that high on Iona this early in the season with the amount of firepower they lost last year. 

Concerning the total - Miami OH has a new coach who will look to run and he's already said he is going to use a full-court press which will lead to easy buckets for both teams. Coach Cooper might be hesitant to slow things down but he has shown nothing in the past where he would. The only time he's played to less than 67 possessions against a BCS school came against Northwestern's princeton offense a few years ago and that was the only game that stayed below 134.

Have much more on both of these games elsewhere on the interweb after a bit.

Hate relying on college kids and health for futures, but sleepers that would hold value include UNLV and Kansas State.

Any future leans? Value plays for the NC?

 

Looking to make some future wagers as I have credit @ my books and dont have tie up actual money for the season...

Looking @ Florida, Florida St, UNLV, and Michy St as my flyer shots to win the NC...Looking for more of a "favorite" to add as well...

 

For conferences I think a young UNC has value in the ACC vs an over valued Duke team and an unproven NCSU squad...

Florida in the SEC

VCU in the A10

Possibly a play against Kansas in the 12 as well...

 

Any thoughts on futures?

Good to have you back Neil.  What are your thoughts on UConn +8.  I faded them a lot last year.  They seemed like a team that just didnt play with any heart.  I think it will be addition by subtraction with some of the players they lost last year.  I look for Napier, Boatright and Daniels to thrive this year and I expect the team to play with a little more passion under Ollie (esp first home game). 

Even though Michigan State will have some size and experience in the paint, it wont be easy replacing Draymon Green.  Sparty has had a tendency to come out of the gates slow and I think laying 8 points in Storrs is too much for Michigan State to cover with their style.  I like UConn's guards in an early season matchup like this.

What are your thoughts?  Best wishes to you on another great season.

Uconn is not at home. The game is being played in Germany.

Also UConn has absolutely nothing up front. They are playing Daniels at the 4 and Olander at the 5. They have little size and will struggle against a historically physical Spartan team. I cant see UConn keeping the rebounding margin within 10. They will probably commit their fair share of fouls also.

If the Spartans decides to become a jump shooting team that will only help UConn.

UConn is also playing a more uptempo style of basketball this year under Kevin Ollie. He wants to take advantage of their speed and quickness to make up for their lack of size.

Not a big fan of futures, so many things can go wrong (look at UNC and Marshall injury last year).

SEC comes down to Missouri/Kentucky

A-10 comes down to the top 6 or 7 (STL, Temple, VCU, St. Joseph's, Umass, Butler, Lasalle)

B-12 I went Kansas, but really like Kansas State

ACC I went NC State, actually put UNC 5th in that conference.

I like your thoughts. I didn't even look into any of the games either a) being played on a boat or b) being played in Germany, which will be midnight their time.

Get college kids out of the routine and you're more than likely not going to get the best effort.

....which essentially translates to they have to get into a quantity rather than quality game b/c they lack some scoring options.

My fault on the location.  I still have a tendency to take the speed that UConn will have on the perimeter.  8 points seems like a lot for a Michigan State team that plays that Big Ten style.

Yeah, that Marshall injury was devastating. I had my bags packed for NOLA on that one. Tears all over the place down here.

Most likely will hold off on any A10 wager. From a value perspective, I liked VCU getting 6-1 odds. But, there are too many teams that could realistically take the top spot. It's going to be a really fun league to follow.

I may dabble on that Mizzou play. I think UK is a little over valued and they are going to stumble at the PG position.

Same w/ Kansas. Dont see even money on them winning as wager to place. Lay off that, but will look at Kansas St...

 

May just roll w/ UNLV to win it all. They get to the F4 and I can buy some back.

Why lean CS Northridge? Pepperdine went from +6 to +4. Strong lean to PEPP. Also in for & loving Fordham +2, TCU -2. Any insight on these? Also took MSU-CONN UN 133.
