Another rare appearance from Kaufee in the NCAA forum. After looking over the slate, one more game caught my eye. I like Iowa St to beat Baylor and advance in the Big 12 tourney tonight.
If there is one key to beating Baylor, it's taking away the 3 ball, or at the very least limiting them. In their only meeting this year, Iowa St lost to Baylor (in Waco) by 2 pts. The Bears hit 12 of 23 three pointers (52.2%). Most of that damage came in the first half. Afterward, Iowa St. adjusted and outscored Baylor by 10 in the 2nd half. The game came down to the buzzer with Jayden Nunn nailing a 3 foot jumper to win it 70-68. The home crowd was electric, but Baylor won't have that advantage tonight.
While this game is at a neutral site in downtown KC, it's only a 3 hour drive from Ames, Iowa. It's an almost 9 hour drive from Waco, TX. So, we should expect an Iowa St. favored crowd.
Iowa St is statistically the slightly better team, should have a crowd advantage, and will most definitely have revenge on their minds.
I expect them to limit Baylor's 3 point shooting and win this one. Give me Iowa St Moneyline at -127
