Some interesting matchups for the 3 teams coming to play against UR, TU and X.Some quick thoughts about it. For Temple and Xavier, we pretty much have 2 lower end teams from their conferences in Penn St and Marquette. Both are obviously good teams, but still were close to last, if not last in terms of getting in for their respective Major conferences. What I tried to do here was look at any common opponents, or who has played against A-10 teams and how did they fair. Penn St defeated Duquesne at home by 4, and St. joe&#x27;s by 7 during OOC play. They both also played against Maryland, where Temple won, while Penn St lost. These are small microcosms of what I want to look at but it is a light gauge for me right now. Temple has really played solid ball throughout this year. They havent hit many bumps or bruises along the way, other than injuries. This game will be smash mouth slow possessions, which falls right into the hands of really both teams. I do feel that Temple is the better team here. I know Battle is a beast but at times can be a little wild. Temple always stays even keel. I will go with a disciplined Dunphy team over the up and down Penn St. squad. Temple -2.5 (1.5 units)Now with Xavier...some common opponents include Seton hall, whom Xavier beat, and Marquette went 1-1 against. Both teams also played Cincy, where X was handled. Difference here is that X is a much different team than they were in the first month and a half of the season. Both teams can rebound for sure and have efficient offenses. Xavier does not shoot the 3 well, but Marquette does not defend it too well either. That could be key if X can knock down a few 3&#x27;s (they dont take a ton). FT shooting might mean the difference and X is much better in that regard.Xavier -2 (1.5 units)Both of these games are tough to cap, but I do feel the class of the A-10 in Temple and X are better than Marquette and Penn St. At worst I see 1-1 here. Give me who I feel is the better team in both of these games...Ignore the bold and underlines...Covers is messed up for some reason. Richmond plays a Vandy team that seems to fall in tournament play recently. Last year Richmond couldnt figure out how to handle St. Mary's. It is no secret that Richmond is not a good rebounding team and their bigs are not particularly physical and play outside a lot. Garrett is one who can bang inside, but that is about it other than crashing the boards with guys like Harper.

Ezeli and Tcheingeng can pose big problems. Vandy will probably look to get the ball inside. That to me is the difference here. Vandy and Richmond can hit the 3 but Vandy defends it very well. Richmond will need to hit the outside shots as unless KA is driving or harper gets cute, that will be the major extent for their inside game. I love looking at FT shooting in tight spread games, and Vandy holds a strong advantage here. I also think Richmond after playing 3 games in 3 days, might not be QUITE as fresh as Vandy, who finished their 3 in 3 a day earlier. Who knows...might be nit picking here, but none the less I am taking Vandy.

As far as Dayton tonight goes...you would look to getting 5.5, but dayton is not fresh at all. BG already said he wishes they had less of a turnaround time. CoC has had much more time to rest (has not played in a week). Is that too much? Dayton pretty much had to hop on a flight down to SC right away. As of now I dont like the side. Will keep an eye on the O/U, as well as the O/U in the 3 tournament games (dont have a line yet on those 3).

There are a few CBI games tomorrow to tangle with too in URI, Bona and Duquesne.

Dayton seems high, but the rest is so different and they're going to have to play really good defense to keep Goudelocke off the scoreboard.

Agree on Vandy, think they're a great team that just hasn't shown it recently. If Jenkins is healthy, I'm not sure Brothers or Martel can guard him. Also a major mismatch on the interior, as Geriot can't defend Ezeli on the block. The 'Dores also have some very versatile guys who play the 4 position, Goulbourne and Walker, who will probably get the Harper assignment. If KA goes off then that's just how it goes, but I think he will need to score 30+ for Richmond to win. Gross matchup made because the committees don't know basketball and made terrible decisions to have this as a first round game.

On X, think they win three games actually if they can get by the Cuse in Cleveland

So far 1 play today...Rhode Island -8 (1 unit)Miami OH defends the 3 absolutely poorly. URI gets gun happy, and if they are ever going to have a hot day from back there, this would be it. The Redhawks defense overall is not like it used to be over the years. URI should be able to capitalize and win by DD if they play smart.

Had a great start last night, Crus   C of C, Okla St and Fairfield, large.  Thinking of taking a run on the Rams tonight, and after reading your thoughts, might just put an extra unit on that game.  Think you&#x27;re right about the Spiders, as Vandy should have their way with them inside.  As long as Richmond doesn&#x27;t go nuts from beyond the arc, seems Vandy and the short number&#x27;s the only play in that game.  Think I&#x27;m going to pass on the X game, but was leaning Temple.  If Scootie Randall plays, like it even more.  BOL throughout the remainder of the tourney, and as always, GO RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

&#xD;&#xA;Great analysis Crus. I&#x27;m still on the fence on this game. No doubt Vandy has a big advantage on the boards. But the Dores do not force turnovers on the defensive end. Richmond has an excellent assist to turnover ratio. I think if the Spiders can distribute the ball well they will get some open looks. Another factor to consider is the pace. Given the fact that fatigue could be a factor for both teams, and the fact that the game is being played at elevation in Denver, I see a slower paced game which definitely works in Richmond&#x27;s favour. &#xD;&#xA;I don&#x27;t think I&#x27;ll be betting this game but I do think there&#x27;s some value taking a chance with Richmond on the bracket, because I don&#x27;t think either team gets past Louisville in Round 3.

[/Quote]All good points. But in the end, it comes down to how well is Richmond stroking the 3 and does KA go off? KA needs to have a very good game IMO to win this. He has looked a bit less than last year, maybe teams are keying him more, but this is the bread and butter. If shots are clanging for the Spiders, it will be a long day.

Tough to say. I watched them live against Richmond and their offense is so stagnant...there is not a ton of set plays, it really has an NBA one on one feel. They look lost. However, MIA OH defense is to be desired, but again URI gets shot happy and might just be ok with a slow pace. Id lean the over, but Ill take the -8.

Nice job. I hope URI just wants to play. Everyone will say they do, as I read they really just want to keep going, but who knows the motivation. They did know it was CBI or bust going in, so I think they arent disappointed. If they play their game tonight...I expect a DD win. Transitioning from a STL and Richmond type defense to MIA OH....I like my chances
