UNC, I had a thought that I wanted to share in this forum and get some feedback. On purely situational plays (eg. let down potential, look ahead, sandwich games etc.) where you are backing a dog, do you think there is more value to look at the 1H line vs. the full game? I've seen too many times my angle play out perfectly on those types of games for the 1H and then after half time the teams come out and the favorite just takes over. NW last night fit that bill. Even in situations, where a team may be favored at home vs. a higher ranked team, I've seen it play out like that (eg. Bama last night).
I ask this b/c I'm looking hard at Auburn +8 as a 1H bet. I can't back Auburn full game against any comp in the SEC just yet, but this has such let down potential that the 1H action seems juicy??
Thoughts?
You can turn this situation into profits if you watch for good teams starting out very slow in the first half against dogs. Check the 2nd half line and if it's fairly close to half of the total spread, bet the fave. Most good teams shake it off or adjust their schemes and end up playing much better in the 2nd half. GL

Sorry, oilerhoops. I didn't mean to post my reply inside your quote box. I'm not new to Covers, but I'm new to posting, and haven't figured it all out yet.

UNC I know you aren't really into playing Pac10 games anymore... but any opinion on ASU @ Oregon
ASU has been attrocious on the road thus far posting an 0-4 mark and losing by double digits in 3/4 of those contests. Granted, the level of competition they have played on the road has been pretty solid in Duke, BYU, USC, and UCLA... If i recall Duke wasnt a true home game tho. Could be wrong on that. Their home record is impressive as is the rest of their record, but they really have beaten up on some soft competition... I look for Oregon to have a bounce back game after a tough loss @ home to a team that was left for dead before last week OSU. Thoughts?

My roommate on the team left yesterday, and I discussed the game with him he told me that the team is basically falling apart. Reed and many of the players are openly criticising the coach and getting in yelling matches.
you are roommates with one of the auburn players?
