UNC....did you happen to read the articel on the homepage of Covers.com a few days ago? It was about the betting volume jump in basketball, college in particluar, this time of year when the Bowl season ends and NFL is winding down. Most bettors don't bet basketball until after football season is over or winding down in January. So...the article was all about how most bettors jump into it without knowing what the hell is going on since they haven't paid any attention to it. Obviously.....most average "square" bettors immediately look for the favorites......RANKED TEAMS.......and hammer them thinking they're the better team cause they're ranked. SO....the article said that oddsmakers take this into account this time of year and really INFLATE the ranked teams lines. Interesting.

I'm just wondering if this is why so many ranked teams haven't been covering lately....ya know? I've been playing this system for years....and it does hit all the time. People can say what they want....but it's a great start each night to check the next day's card and look for those "weird" lines that jump out.

Great Job today UNC, Im loving the fact that youve been giving some insight into some of your picks. I know its tough with a family and kids but it really helps (me at least) to see some of your rationale. Couldnt pull the trigger with you on the Pitt game even though you gave a great post regarding your thoughts. So I just stayed away cause I was thinking the other side...wish I hadnt.

Havent looked at games yet and prob wont tonight, feeling tired but lookin forward to talkin some hoops again tomorrow.

Great job again...Didnt read through all the pages of posts today, but thought you were 4-0-1. Which was the game that didnt hit, was it a late add on?

UNC, I know you won&#x27;t do it, but Michigan St was 6.5 WELL before tipoff (hours before) and at -6 an hour before the game. You are taking it as a push....but I personally think it should be a win. That is cool of you to stick to your posted line though, even though 90% of us hit that game.

Great night for us tonight UNC. Tomorrow is one of those days that I have no chance. I am not good at picking teams with big spreads. One thing I've noticed is that when the public loses big one night, they usually win the next night, and vice versa.

I see most of the double digit favorites covering tomorrow. I will defer to your analysis.

I like the St. Mary's play, but I fear that it is inflated due to the fact that St. Mary's has covered 9 out of their last 10 games. Fading Gonzaga tomorrow is a part of a "system" that I have though.

You got balls being able to bet on Indiana. That team is horrible, and it's hard for me to find spots when they'll cover.

Keep the analysis coming UNC. I'd like to hear some reasoning here.
