Im all about people coming in here with info and debating on games that I posted on here buddy. Thats what the mods want to see more of and so do I. People need to get different opinions on these games Im posting. So I am all for it. Lay it on us for other to get both sides opinions...
Its people bickering back and forth on irrelavent stuff that drives us nuts. Or people just posting plays where they can easily start there own thread.
ok i misunderstood, just seemed like you didnt like people posting info on non-play games. I like it when people disagree or give me their insights on opposite sides as well
i agree that its the useless crap you see all over your thread that you just can't avoid.

WAKE @ GA TECH
These teams are among the most inconsistent in the ACC. Over their last 5 each is 3-2 SU in conference play.
Wake have been winners @ UNC, home to Maryland in OT and home to Virgina (Aside: who would've thought the least impressive win would be at UNC in December?). The Deaks were blown out @ Duke and lost a thriller @ Miami. By my record, this team lost in its biggest challenge, handled the nest three hardest, and dropped the easy one of the bunch.
Georgia Tech however has a flair for the dramatic. Average margin in last 5 games? 3.4 pts... One more time... 3.4 POINTS! The least competitive game was a 7 pt loss @ Virginia! Who Wake took by 12 last weekend. That game may have been a letdown after a 4 pt home victiry over the Blue Devils... WHO DESTROYED WAKE!!! (Another side: This write-up is wrinkling my brain) Their last three contests have all been 2 point affairs. A win at UNC in a game that was a blowout but UNC had the final shot to win. A 2 point win at home to Clemson with an injured Stitt and Clemson with the final posession- seriously the Tigers may have run the dumbest inbounds play ever in this one. And a 2 point loss at FSU, where Tech made a surprising % with their 3s (40) and an embarassing % with their FTs (50).
For the record, I'm taking WAKE, and here's why.
Only 3 contributors return for the Jackets since their defeat in the ACC tourney (Lawal, Peacock and Schumpert). Where the Deacons may have lost their best players (Johnson and Teague), they boast a deeper bench and can contend with Tech's size and have better guard play. These teams are almost identical in every statistical measure I won't bore you with that. Both stink at the FT line, excellent statistical defense, rebounding, steals, turnovers... they're almost carbon copies.
However, look for Wake to go in the paint more, put Favors, Lawal, Peacock in foul trouble. Wake gets to the line, Tech is foul prone. Wake is more efficient I feel, as they attempt far less threes, yet have the same offensive production. Wakes guards can forget about their big men and take ill advised shots from the arc. If they fall early, they think they're hot. If they're not, they keep shooting it till they are. Tech tends to forget about their posts (as Favors is a frosh and Lawal gets touches of the glass), while Mcfarland is utilized well in wakes offense and Al-Farouq is adept at getting his own shot.
Can't see this being a blowout. Even if Tech got up 10+ with 10 mins left, I wouldnt trust them. I think the jackets are going to be drained emotionally, I dont' trust hewitt as a coach. Look ahead is minimal for both squads, Miami is up next for Wake, Kentucky State for the jackets.
Final Pick WAKE +4.5 and the Under if you fancy it.

Yeah, I botched that one. I thought I edited that out but I must've mentioned him twice. My only point on Johnson was that he had a tough day from the stripe. Leuer had a real rough day and even besides that fact Wisc pulled it out. Maybe it's a threat that Purdue doesn't concern themselves with now, I dunno. I still think this one gets ugly for Wisconsin to cover.

all good man...i was at the game, and as bad as Purdue played and two of their 3 main contributors, Purdue still had a shot to win near the end at a very tough Kohl Center. 13-24 FT is horrendous, as well as 3-10 for 3's. and we are generaly a decent FT shooting team. It won't be a blowout thats for sure.

Absolutely. That was one of my points. Make your Fts and it's totally different complexion of that game. Purdues probably ahead for most of it. I want to take the Boilermakers in this spot. I'm a pretty casual capper. I play the big conferences with a bit of WCC, WAC and MWC, but I like to have some money on the major conferences. I think theres value in WISC +7.5, but I've seen this team just be unable to make shots to keep it close. Which is only made worse in a 6 pt game with a minure left, No nba rules here where you foul till you miss, then give it up. Wisc could be down 4, then 6, then 8... Not alot of shot making on this team right now. So I think it becomes a game of pace. eating up clock, getting looks, contact on every play to get to the line. Make it uncomfortable. The badgers remind me of a squad that you think you're playing well against at halftime, but in reality, they're stopping you and stopping themselves. I liked your write up. This has been a Purdue heavy series as of late. And Wisconsin ended their perfect run not to long ago. I'll admit, I'm also a tad concerned about Painters habit of letting his becnh out to early. Really hurt me against Michigan. Anyways, more talk tomorrow. GL
