GL Kap on that play,hope they come out of the gate for you,bad thing with DD lines in first half is if they start out without a lead,then you have to sit on the edge of your seat waiting for them to pull away,lol.

I was on UCLA last game,but they played a bad team,tuff to know if a bad team that returns all their players are still going to be bad,sometimes they are just bad players,but most times they get better with a year under their belts,but they were bad last year for sure.

I like the play just for the fact that I always seem to get screwed betting Pepperdine.

PEPPERDINE is 4-18 ATS (-15.8 Units)  after playing a game as an underdog over the last 2 seasons.

UCLA is 19-3 UNDER (+15.7 Units)  after game - where they allowed a shooting pct. of 33% or less since 1997.

Nutty line movement went from 19.5 to 16.5 now back to 18.5.

Mortal lock they win by 17 or 18.  Check your tickets!

That is some strange line movement, depeche. Let's hope UCLA closes it out at 18 so that anyone who got -17.5 will cash too.

 

peperdine is one of RAS plays and that generally means an automatic 3 pt change in opening line

There might still be value in the OVER... not as much as earlier, but if Pepperdine is willing to run with UCLA like I think they probably are... we could be looking at a boatload of possessions tonight.

So disgusting... I wait all this time, spend all this effort to watch UCLA on TV, and they come out just flat with no effort. Pepperdine will probably win this game because UCLA cannot, and has not been able to for the last 5 years, figure out how to consistently score on a zone.

I've seen this play over, and over, and over again with Ben Howland's offense... I somehow deluded myself that this year would be different because we had more offensive talent... but it's really a coaching thing on offense against a zone. He just doesn't know how to scheme to beat it, because he's had a variety of different guys and none of them could put it together.

Very frustrating. VERY frustrating.

Oh... and I took UCLA (1H) UNDER 70.5 at the last minute.

Pepperdine will not win.  They've lost 14 straight games for a reason.

UCLA still sucks tho.

Pepperdine is shooting a worse percentage from the field and from three... and they are still up one. Based on what I saw in the 1H, this Pepperdine +9.5 2H line sure looks like a gift... this thing could easily come down to the wire. I don't know if UCLA can pull away in the 2H. Not against a zone.

AND NOT WITH FUCKING JERIME ANDERSON

He had at least 3 plays that had me screaming at the television. I can't wait to not have to watch him anymore someday

No prob Kap.  Just one loss.  Remember just to fade them next time against a good zone defense.  Personally this game has been a game of runs.  UCLA could easily have been up 5 going into halftime or better.  If UCLA pushes a lead to say 10 with less than a minute they could cover the spread with free throws... that is if they can hit their free throws... LOL! 

UCLA will tighten up the D in the 2nd half.  The better home team always does.  I've been watching basketball for a while.  UCLA played with no defensive intensity whatsoever in the first half.  They definitely got chewed out at the half.  Vegas doesnt believe the result of the game will be in doubt.

You're right Jes, I'm just venting... lose the 1H over by 0.5 points, Anderson had at least three mind numbing plays, and UCLA *still* cannot figure out a zone defense. It makes me want to smash things.

You sure would have to think so, if it's one thing Howland's teams have been able to do its play good defense (at least, historically -- not last year's team!). He tends to be a good 2H coach in terms of making defensive adjustments... I just worry that UCLA will continue to look lost on offense against the zone. I go straight zone if I'm Pepperdine for the 2H

Nothing wrong with venting.  I have been there many a times.  Hell I have been there yesterday even.  BOL!
