Texas Tech -8 : Line is set high to attract money on Iowa state who is no secret anymore. By betting the +8 here you aren’t getting line value you are on a public play that is going on the opposite direction (+7.5 to +8). This should be a 12-16 point win by Texas Tech. 

Uconn -13.5 : Butler hasn’t beaten a team in the top 100 other than Oklahoma early in the year in a game that is now being seen as a fluke. Butler has lost 5 of 6 top 100 games by 15+ when they have played them. Line has been pushed from -11.5 last night to -13.5 so a little value has been lost here but I expect Butler to be down 16+ by half and eventually lose by closer to 20 than 10.

WV +6.5 : line has shifted to +6. Would love to see it shift to +5.5 soon as that would indicate Akinjo not playing for Baylor. With Akinjo I like this play at +6.5 and without him this is my top play of the day. Baylor hasn’t been THAT impressive if you break down the games individually (other than Villanova which was a completely different team when that game was played). I think WVU will win out right today without Akinjo playing and cover the 6.5 if he is.

Todays plays:

Louisville -7.5 : Home cooking for Louisville against a very poor BC team. Rumors in the program that Louisville locker room is a bit upside down right now so that’s semi concerning but I still think the talent differential in this game is drastic. I have this game as Louisville -10.5 and think they win comfortably. 

Mississippi State +6 : Very overrated Florida team that has struggles at home. Florida plays well when they are able to dominate in the post and rebounding but they should have their hands full with this Mississippi State team. 

Virginia Tech -1 : I think tech gets their revenge and wins this game after losing to NC State earlier in the year. Tech will shoot well tonight and I think their offense will be the difference.

Kentucky UNDER 143 : I have this O/U at 136 so there is good line value here.

OVER 139 Florida State : North Florida should be able to get to 65 in this game. Huge sandwich spot for Florida State between the Duke win and Miami on Saturday. They will play 10 deep in this game and the defense will suffer. Final score around 85-65.

Purdue -3.5 : Purdue is the best team in the country in my power rankings a big reason is due to the match up nightmare they bring to the table. With the center at 7-3 he causes a great deal of match up issues. We saw that against Illinois when Cockburn was dominated and so frustrated at times he wanted to come out of the game. Indiana brings to the table a fantastic defense - Top 10 in the country by defensive metrics but the issue is it’s their amazing front court that is the reason for this. They dominate the post on defense and offense and also dominate the boards. That just can’t happen tonight due to the Purdue front court size. Indiana also has an extremely weak back court who will need to deal with a lottery pick on Purdue. I have Purdue -5.5 in this game and I wouldn’t be surprised if they win by 8+.

Arizona -11.5 : Truth be told I snatched this up last night at -9 when it was released but I didn’t post so let’s go with the “now number” for record keeping. This is a big sell high spot for me on Stanford. They are a slow grind it out team and they just won’t be able to do that to Arizona who is top 30 in pace of play. I have Arizona as the #6 team in the country and vastly under rated right now.  I have this line as Arizona -14.5

UIC -4 : This is a big spot play for me. UIC at home and one of the top 30 3 point shooting attempt teams in the country. If they shoot even a reasonable percentage tonight they cover this number. Northern Kentucky is also atrocious on allowing offensive rebounds. What do 3 point attempts provide? Long rebounds and chances at offensive rebounds. Northern Kentucky a bottom 40 foul shooting team and overall extremely undisciplined. Bad spot here for NKU on the road. I have UIC -6.5 in this game.

Two plays today:

Maryland +4.5 :Home dog spot in the big10. Illinois best player (and potentially player of the year in ncaa) out for the game. Maryland got blown out last game by Michigan also a line value spot due to that. Maryland actually has a solid backcourt and wings - it’s their forwards that are a bit weak. With Cockburn out that should help limit the damage with that. Without Cockburn I have this line as Maryland -1 

Michigan State +3 : Obviously a tough road spot for Michigan state but I feel the regression on Wisconsin will come and this is a great game for it to start. I think Michigan State wins this game out right but we will take the points. I would set this line as a PK.
