Me after the game tomorrow:
LETS GO DUKE!!!
BOILER UP!
And just to bump it up bc i know you guys dont like searching through posts like myself:
Here's my take on the Purdue-Duke game.
Two keys to this game for Purdue - one is going to be their perimeter defense. Duke has three outside scorers who make up the majority of their offense. Kramer will be on Kyle Singler and although he will give up a couple inches to Singler, it shouldnt be a problem. Kramer is one of the best defenders in the country and can take on anyone regardless of the height differential. He will be able to contain him on the perimeter. The main question is who will be on Scheyer. It will be either Grant or Moore who are also good defenders as well. But, the toll it will take on them on the defensive end running around screens will affect the offensive threat bc of tired legs (more so in the 2nd half). Painter will use a combination of those two and Barlow throughout the game to help eliminate the tiredness the players will get in the 2nd half. I feel all three guys can defend and hang with Scheyer, There's no doubt he will get his points - the question is containing him enough and making other Duke players beat them (Nolan Smith, Thomas, Plumlee brothers, etc.)
The second main key i see is rebounding. Purdue has not been the best rebounding team although they played well rebounding in their last two games. The frontcourt lacks a lot of depth, and Duke has that depth in the Plumlee brothers, Zoubek, and Lance Thomas. JaJuan Johnson HAS to be aggressive getting rebounds, but at the same time if he gets into foul trouble like he did against A&M in the 1st half then that will spell doom for Purdue. If he has to go out for extended minutes then Duke will run away with this game. I can't stress enough how important rebounding will be in this game. Limit second chance points as much as possible and Purdue will be fine.
My roomate is a manager for the team, and I talk with some of the players here and there and can tell you what, the players are absolutely pumped and will be ready to play (although all teams should be excited to play, I know). But I get a good feeling about these players attitudes and trying to prove all the doubters wrong that they cant win without Hummel. The HEART and INTENSITY will come to play in this game
Furthermore, Hummell will be making the trip to Houston and be on the bench (he didnt make the trip to Spokane bc of surgery). This can only benefit Purdue to have extra motivation as Hummell watches on the bench and ability to use his leadership in team huddles and what not.
There are obviously other keys to the game but I feel these two are the mot important. In addition, I think Purdue will try to slow things down. They are not going to want to be in a track meet with Duke, although I think they can hang with them if that's how the flow of the game goes. It will be very tough for Purdue to win - they will need their best effort of the year.
Duke wins (but i hope Purdue does ), but not in a blowout. And this game will stay under with a slower paced game and both teams being great defensively.

yo purdue, as a tarheel, i need your boilers to make it happen today. i won't be playing game though.
who's on Baylor? initially i like them, but i really don't know much about St Mary's other than they play in a weak conference and didn't play many good non-conference teams. baylor beat xavier, tx, ksu, a&m.

When Duke lost (NCSU, GA Tech, G-Town) they had either Scheyer, or Singler, or both have shitty shooting games. They are completely vulnerable if that happens. However it doesn't happen that often.Zubek is a wildcard. Sometimes he sucks awful

What planet are you getting your spreads at? Cornell and WVU going in different directions...I guess you timed it right!
The points won't save you anyway for those two games but goodluck on them anyway!
Good call Devil !! The Devil knows all

Even picking MSU, I'm hoping you do well. Don't want you to leave. I always look at your posts and put them into my considerations.
BOL and hope you stick around.

i've been loving this site for a while, have been through the ups and downs and handled them like any gambler should do. Short and sweet, these are my last plays ever if they dont hit. Regardless, I'm up over 22U this CBB season which is great. BUT, i'm going all out this Friday. These plays don't hit and I will not be back, 100%. Purduepride2206 will not exist anymore. I got a lot of stuff on me right now and I'm laying all my profits from this entire season on one day. This is my strategy, hate it if you'd like it has no difference to me personally. I lose and I come out even which is better than losin all my "life's savings" on a game. These are my plays, BOL
PURDUE +10 (-BUY 1/2) 12U
PURDUE/DUKE UNDER 129 (2U)
NORTHERN IOWA +1 (8U)
BOL and i hope to see you guys on Saturday.
BOL man I am going to tease purdue and st mary's tonight. I feel good to know you are on purdue
