but I will tell you a story.   I’m working in a restaurant as a teen at my pops place.  A wise guy who is a friend of ours comes in and asks me if I can run to to OTB in statement island to place a bet for a horse.  I said if it’s goinf to win hell yea. I will walk out of here right now and I could careless how busy the place is.   He asks my dad if it was ok to go and my dad said yea.   So he hands me a paper bag full of money.   He tells me- idc if you get a flat tire. Idc if there is an accident and you can’t get there to bet it.  If the horse wins which it will I want my money.   No excuses!  I said sure no probs.   I run and go bet it for him and my dad gave me money to bet for himself.    Maiden Special Weight.  First time starter.  The horse comes roaring down the stretch. Wins the race.   Pays I believe 3-1. Who was the horse?

Tobasco Cat!!  Hahaha. Ended up running in derby.    I go give the guy his money. He asks me if I bet it. I said yea. He handed me $200 from his winnings as a tip as well.   Hahaha. I was like 18-19 years old.
