Really disappointed they missed out. Would have been great for the Tournament.
Red Storm played well toward the end too.
Why are Virginia there?

If you are shocked the NCAA plays politics you must have just been born yesterday. It didn't just start recently. It's always been that way. I think St. John's should have just said screw the NCAA and go play in the NIT. The NIT is its own organization separate from the NCAA. A lot of people don't know this, but the NIT tournament is older than the NCAA tournament.

@Klaister1
The NIT said we would love to have you in our tournament and Pitino said no we are to good for your tournament so I say screw him. I could understand last year North Carolina not wanting to play in it when you are a preseason number 1 team and had the season they had, but St. John's isn't North Carolina. Just play in the NIT. They probably would have been a 1 seed and get some home games and bring in some more money for the program and some nationally televised games and try to win it. Plus I think it would look good for them if next year they are in the same spot.

Yep. They should have gone to the NIT. Playing time for those who want to play is extremely valuable. Meaningful practices is very valuable. I can't believe a veteran coach like Pitino opted out. Playing in the NIT will help his returning players next year. The NIT I not what they wanted, but it's better than not playing and not gaining more experience.
