St. John's has burned my a s s bad this year, betting on or against them. All games after they beat Duke and Nova.

Lost 10 units on Butler ML which ended my ncaab capping for the year.

I'll be rooting for you. I hope Gtown pounds them to a pulp honestly.

You were like 2-6 (by your own accord) - then I thought you lost 2 NBA games (DAL/CHI and LAL/SAK) and also lost the Iona semifinals.

This is capping harassment. Come out like gangbusters in all these games, lead the whole way and poof, look at the final score and it looks like your pick didn’t show up.

Scal, thanks for turning me on to the over in the St. John's game. It was never in doubt. Keep an eye on this trend: Under in First Half then Over in Second Half. Has been doing very good in League Tournament games because first half teams play very conservative then the team trailing late in the game starts pressing, running the floor and fouling. Check out Notre Dame game.

It hurts to walk away from something I love (writing and capping) but for now I have to do it.

The writing is up to par.

The capping...is not.

Taking a break to bet some pro wrestling, award shows, hot dogs contests, politics and other random exotics. I hit home runs on those things and should just stick to them for now.

St. John’s at Madison square garden? They played Villanova even, and handled Duke. That alone said St. John’s or stay away....

St. John’s has always played great at garden...

Packers my most successful run on Covers was my Lebron throwing skittles in the sky Trayvon Martin avatar.

That one is in the attic for now.

The old Scal avatar....I’m just not feeling it.

The whammy avatar came from Michael Larsen. And I enjoyed it. But it lost its luster.

I was going to put $1,000 on St John’s and like the Iona Fairfield game I got scared off it because of the spread. And I can’t explain it but literally the last ten times I’ve re-evaluated a side and changed a pick I’ve lost. And it the most frustrating thing in the world.

Again my rational brain was all over St John’s and I went out of my way to choose the other side. Ridiculous.

And worse I had a 6 pt three team tease including GU +9.5 and somehow that falls outside the teases spread!

So I’m going to concentrate on exotics and futures for now.

Scal since you asked - I just did check on your record.  I calculate it to be 3-11 this year (I was pretty sure you calculated wrong).  Not sure why it is hard to keep track of so few plays.

Wins:

Losses:
Lakers +2.5 Charlotte on 1/5
Mavs -1 Bulls on 3/2
Knicks -3 Sac on 3/4

Iona -5 St Peters on 3/4
Elon -4 James Madison on 2/26 (70 year gym angle)
Mon +1 Fair on 2/24
Fairfield - 2 Siena on 2/21
Purdue - 9 Wisconscin on 2/15 (POY)
St John +8.5 Butler on 1/27
Vikings -3 Eagles on 1/20

So, NO BS - there are all the plays in sports (excluding your great exotic record in hot dogs, bra sizes, and oscars).

I wish you the best I really do.  But, be honest with yourself to help right the ship and to understand you don't have "guarantees" - just "edges".

I agree you got unlucky this year but 3-11 is pretty bad and not every game is unlucky - didn't you lose a college game 70-45 this year (St John vs Butler).  Also, didn't Eagles crush the Vikings?  Also didn't the POY 9 point favorite LOSE OUTRIGHT?

Stop complaining about being unlucky.  Work harder.  Cap better.  Win from the books.  I wish you do b/c I can tail and win too!!

I have an amazing CAP coming up soon - should be stone cold lock!!!

Continuing my last message - it is absurd to claim 4-8 going into today when it was 3-10 (since you are 3-11 now overall).

Good luck but be honest about your record keeping - will help you to cap better and focus.

Also, you cap few games - the #1 trait of a winner - so I think you can win.

But, I don't understand how you say you swapped your mind 10 times and lost all.  Why bet a game where you swap your mind???  Suggests to me a "coinflip" game and avoid.  But, that's just me idk.

Stop the attention seeking headlines with the big game analysis and find the games that jump off the page without thought. If the devil does happen to camp out here on covers you have a bulls eye on your back and it is self imposed. Try being a little more humble, use the intelligence that you posess and just list your games. I hate seeing anybody lose money to the books
