Sadly, that's how you learn. I've lost money in the past before from betting on sports that I don't know. ALWAYS read and understand he fine print/rules. For example, I once bet on Polish Ice hockey. Took the live O4.5. Final score was 3-2 after OT but it shows that I lost. Talked to customer service and they said that for international ice hockey, the O/U only applies to REGULATION TIME and NOT OT. Read the rules on international ice hockey and it said the exact same thing that the customer rep told me..
