CBS/Turner NCAA announcer Andrew Catalon apologized on Friday after he used the phrase “Hack-a-Polack” to describe Oklahoma State’s strategy against Przemek Karnowski, a Gonzaga player from Poland.

“Easy now,” his co-announcer, Mike Gminski, cautions.

“Oh sorry,” he laughs.

Later in the game, Catalon took a moment to apologize.

“I made a comment about Karnowski,” he said. “I apologize if people were offended.”

After the game, he took to Twitter to apologize again.

Karnowski tweeted that he accepted his apology.

How is this offensive? How many Polish people were actually watching this game and took offense to it? It's like that kid who flips the bird in a school picture and the school blacks out the hand. It wasn't a big deal until it was pointed out what he did.

And don't try and make it seem like it's the same as "hack a black" or "hack a guke".
