Michigan -2.5: UCSD getting plenty of praise for their 30-4 season and rightly so, but come on, this is a huge step up in competition now. They did not play a hugely challenging non-conference schedule, with their only notable win a 2-point decision at Utah State just before Christmas. Not sure how the Tritons will deal with bigs like Goldin and Wolf but it should be interesting. I have a lot of belief in Dusty May as a coach and I think he will devise a solid game plan to deal with this guard-oriented upstart UCSD team who are making their first foray into the Dance. Think battle-tested Michigan pull away here to an 8-10 point win. Biggest play of the year for me - 3.5 units ($350).

One massive play for me to start off with:

Really find myself torn on some of these massive spreads in the Tournament. You get these huge spreads early in non-conference play and the favourites often cover ... everyone feeling fresh still and trying to get the notoriety and move up in the polls. But at this stage of the season, you often see teams just wanting to do what they gotta do to advance, get the starters out of there when they have a decent lead. Sure there are still blowouts, but there really isn't anything to be gained by it. And while some of these mid-majors aren't necessarily that good, they still had good seasons and/or won their conference tournaments, so I wouldn't say there are many gimmes. The Houston and Florida games, for example, look like blowouts but no chance I am laying 28 or 29 points. More power to those who do so and win, but think I will steer clear of those games. MVSU isn't in the tournament last time I checked lol.. Just kinda spit-balling here, FWIW.
