Butler -5. 1 unit. Butler may have lost Stevens but Vandy is still an SEC bottom dweller. Butler definitely has risen to national prominence and the talent and home court will still be there.

Fresno State -5. 2 units. Not sure how this line isnt higher. Fresno State already blasted CSUN which is of comparable talent and that was on the road. Fresno State has a decent home crowd and CSUN just lost at home against Nevada.
BYU -5. 1 unit. BYU is blowing teams out by an average of 20 a game at home and beat Stanford on the road handily. The altitude should make Iowa State suck wind as well.
Wichita State -5. 1 unit. Tulsa lost at home to Oral Roberts. Wichita State has been blowing teams out at home. They have handled Tulsa the last two years as well.
Lets see if the 6-0 streak keeps going...

Thanks CRS.

Eastern Illinois +15. 1 unit. Eastern Illinois's claim to fame this year is they were beaten by Northwestern by 18. The good news is Northwestern is better than Purdue. However, they have also won two against small schools, the last by 20. Meanwhile Purdue has beaten what I would consider similarly talented Rider and North Kentucky by 4 and 1 respectively. So talent wise, Purdue should just barely beat these guys, maybe even by 10...but not 15.
Northwestern -5. 2 units. Speaking of Northwestern, dont let the 1-2 fool you. The two losses were against Illinois State and Stanford, both decent teams (yes Il St too - I'll get to that in a second). Eastern Illinois Chicago just lost by 20 to.....Illinois State, who again was beaten by......NW by 18.
Illinois State +2.5. 2 units. Which leads us to the last of these teams that have played each other. Another decent team that has a 1-2 record with close losses to Drexel and of course! Northwestern. Manhattan looked decent against LaSalle but they also barely beat Ivy Leaguer Columbia. The Redbirds are at home and GETTING points. They should win outright.
Lets see if my analysis pans out...

JD - Oh Purdue will win but I dont see them blowing Eastern Illinois out. Purdue has struggled to hit the gas in its wins so EI needs to just hang around to cover.

K State +5. 1 unit. Georgetown is either really less talented this year or unfocused. Im thinking that trend continues in Puerto Rico. Also, they have ex UCLAer Josh Smith who is a giant waste of space.
UMASS +4. 1 unit. For a game that UMASS could win and that will probably go down to the wire, two possessions make it an attractive met. Being in Charleston slightly favors UMASS as well.

67% so far...WAY ahead of previous seasons.
Less plays, more research has paid off so far.

UAB -1. This line dropped another point while I was writing that last post. OK, I'll bite. Nebraska played well against UMASS but the Minutemen were generally in control the whole game. Same cant be said for UAB who pushed NM into OT.

Monmouth +19.5. 2 units. Fade Steve Lavin and big spreads. When at UCLA he would recruit superior talent and we would watch cakewalks turn into nail biters. Ive seen this movie, should play out the same.
Northern Colorado +6. 2 units. UNC beat K State and barely lost to New Mexico State on the road. Colorado State doesnt have that level of talent this year. And with Greeley only 20 minutes from Fort Collins, there's no huge home court or altitude advantage here. I think this one is going to be close.
UNC ML +220. 1 unit. So close, I think they will probably win outright. I also think Im 0-2000 on ML picks though...
UCLA -16. 1 unit. Steve Alford, unlike his predecessor, Ben Howland, kills bad teams. He did at New Mexico, hopefully he'll do it at UCLA. So far, so good.

Indiana +2. UCONN looked a bit lost against BC and didnt shoot well at all. I think the trend continues against Indiana who buried the Huskies without breaking a sweat. I see the trend continuing here. 2 units.

Would have been 4-3 but I keep thinking I'll win a ML dog bet. Also had I waited on N Colorado I could have gotten 7.5 and been a winner. Still, positive day.
Overall now 35-19-1 for +17.4 units.

Cal -4. 1 unit. Cal looking somewhat formidable with big wins over Oakland and Denver. Arkansas hasnt been an NCAA basketball factor since Corlis Williamson
Minnesota +3. 1 unit. Gophers shock in the first round of Maui Invitational. I think they have the depth and the shooters to do so.
More to look at.
