There was a Covers article about this several weeks back. The books are afraid of deep-pocketed sharps and are shorting the lines to not provide opportunities. The result is a feeding frenzy for the casual/public bettor.

everyone wants to play devils advocate and present some sort of argument....i cant stand people like you.
did you want me to give you a 50 game sample?
all im saying is for the past 3 weeks....these high profile televised games ....that generate the most action....the lines have been layups. ive never seen anything like it....everyone that i know is just winning.
i woke up this morning to see that everyone and their mother was on south florida last night with a short line of -2.....the game was never even a sweat.
the 3 biggest wagers yesterday in my book atleast....were uconn, gtown, and south florida.
3-0 for public.
today maryland, baylor, gtown and marq so far....and 2 of those games are already coasting.
just weird to see such easy lines.

Years of wagering have made me an against the grain type player and I've been sitting on the sidelines a lot because I keep seeing these lines that look too good to be true and my first instinct is to figure out what is wrong with the line and what the books are trying to accomplish by floating out such a line.
Many times I just let freebies pass because years of experience have taught me it just isn't that easy. Well this year it is for some reason.
It was much the same way in college and pro football.

I agree with you. It's been a strange year.

LOL at your attitude. You have no clue who is getting killed. None. there are thousands of books in thousands of areas with different bets & priorities. Maybe an offshore got killed on college hoop then killed it in soccer half a world away. You have no idea whose losing, & if you think you do you should get the fuck out of your thread.

These were not public plays, they were sharp plays. Baylor opened at -1 closed at -2.5. Who do you think drove that up. Public money in college basketball is immaterial, when will you idiots ever learn this.
