Sorry its been a little while since I posted been red hot with totals lately (making up for my rough NFL spell). I'm just not feeling this forum lately - no real discussions, tons of touting, and if I read one more thread about trap lines or the need to go against public plays I'm going to have to do something drastic. The whole concept is so freaking stupid (and was relevant about 10-15 years ago) and I could write a manifesto on its many flaws, anyway I won't stay on the soapbox but its ridiculous and killing me slowly on the inside
We have an hour till tip and I want to get this posted so I'm not going to do into great detail, just briefly hit the main point of why I like Ark St/Lou Lafayette over 135 and Ark St -10
This game is all about the matchups and strengths and weaknesses of the two teams (what game isn't).
Ark St has been beasting on the boards in 6 of its last 7 games and has height that can both rebound and score on the inside - Louis Lafayette has had to go to a much smaller lineup due to injuries, ineligibility, and players leaving the team. They will drive, kick, turn it over, get to the line, etc. Ark St's coach has already said that they will be full-court pressing in this game and you can be fairly confident that Louisiana Lafayette will "improve" on their nearly 17 turnovers a game. One of Lafayette's strengths over the last few games is its scoring with its new, quick, guard oriented lineup. They have increased their tempo and scoring considerably and this game should have pressing, long rebounds and running chances. Ark St is a very good defense but with their bigger lineup I can see them having trouble keeping the Cajans out of the paint and off the free throw line. I have a ton more angles I like but I'll just post this as is, I feel like there is a good chance that Ark St will get to 75+ in this game, if they do we have a good chance to sweep the two plays.
You should know that they have played very close games in the past, but this is also a big play against Lafayette's new lineup, attitude and team turmoil (they best player reinjured his knee, one of their 3 bigs has eligibility issues and didn't make the road trip and another quit the team because he graduated, he was not a contributor but this still means alot for the mood and unity on the team and when teams bring small squads on the road, it often times doesn't end well.
Good luck with whatever you decide, despite what it looks like in this forum, we are all in this together
