Um... K-state - 2 against Utah State???? What a joke!!!

Had Utah St last yr and took the beating also watched Kst make a huge tournament run last yr as did about 35 million other people! That was last year and Vegas doesn't make many mistakes as public will be all over KST and I really think Utah ST wins a stinker. The line movement in this game will tell you all you need to know! Wesley is a decent player, he hustles and has some agility for being a big man, but ehhhhhh. Watching a young Boise St. press this team on occasion in the WAC championship was comical. Utah St. was so sloppy. They play good defense, very active hands and cutting off passing lanes, but any team with an ounce of experience would have beat them that night, and they blew double digit leads twice. I think anyone wagering on Utah St. before the game starts is taking a huge risk, almost a lottery ticket, hoping their structure is enough to overcome a team like Kansas St. who will undoubtedly have the best player on the floor. K St. also has the bodies to frustrate Wesley much like A&M did last year. Utah St. hasn't faced anyone on Kansas St.'s level since early in the year when they played a close one against BYU. They were manhandled by Georgetown in December in a similar way A&M did in the first round last year. Utah St.'s biggest win is St. Mary's, another overrated team, who didn't deserve anything more than the NIT.

I like Utah State to win both games opening weekend. Like RJ said they were a deer caught in headlights last year come tourney time. Now they know the feeling of being there and will come out with a vengence this year. Did you see when they were selected as a 12 seed, how dissapointed they were?? They have something to prove and won't let KState, Wisky or Belmont get in the way.

Have you guys actuaally watched Utau st play...Turnover after turnover, missed lay ups, Horrible motion offense,terrible shooting,,,thier best player jumps 2" vertical .....I can't believe they were ranked ..They would be dead last in any power conf.....

And they're soft. I mean their toughest player is Brian Green and he isn't even intimidating even though he tries his hardest

I agree with this.....I've seen Utah State play a half dozen times this year and have been less than impressed each time. I really like Morrill as a coach but I think this team is not as good as advertised. I think the seeding is about right and I really think they will struggle against a physical KSU squad. KSU can be careless with the ball and that may help USU. Not saying USU can't win, but I hardly think they are the juggernaut that many are making them out to be.

I would hate to think anyone is making out Utah State to be a juggernaut.

But is K State a slam dunk? Not a damn chance. Utah State plays way too much defense to bet on K State away from home.

Of course, this is the one game all week where people dont understand the line. I dont get why I am debating.

Hate to say it but I think Kansas State has a decent chance to advance out of that region. Just don't have a ton of faith in Pitt and the bottom half of that region is a joke. Wouldn't be at all suprised if someone like Gonzaga and K St play in that regional final.

I don't debate the line at all......I just think USU is over-rated in public perception. I don't really think anybody has seen these guys play and are basing their opinions on a gaudy record and a lot of folks talking about how good USU is. I'm not buying it. Not real interested in laying points with KSU......but I've heard a lot of love for Utah State and I think it is a bit misdirected. That's all....not arguing where the line is set at all, and frankly I don't think people are stupid for playing USU....by the same token, I don't think people playing KSU are stupid either.

As someone who was looking to play K State to the Final 4, I hate this game for them.

It screws up my brackets pretty bad.

They were one of the teams I thought could make a run - including A&M, Marquette, Missouri and Purdue.

Utah State cannot simply cannot put up the points to win this game. Their offense is missing the guard play to make them a contender in this game. If you watch them they just have 2-3 mediocre bigs crashing the boards and no kind of flow at all. This will not suffice against the talent of K-State. Maybe that joke of a team St Mary's, but not K State.

I imagine Frank martin will go at Tai Wesley and bring him into foul trouble. Once that happens it is goodbye Utah State. Even with him in it still won't matter. K State has three people that can defend him in Roberts, Kelly, and Samuels.

within the next 2 years Frank Martin will get fired for hitting or choking some kid on his team. . K state wont make a run this tourny dont ruin your brackets people. I like utah st here straight up. . classic case of a better basketball team (usu) playing vs better athletes (ksu)

Not saying Utah st is a great team, which is my point exactly! Why is the line 1' and not moving with everyone on KST already? I think its a great spot for them considering they lost in this same exact 5-12 last yr to A&M. Watch the line movement if it moves to 3 I probably wont play that much, but if it stays at 1' i will be on Utah St. As for KST they lost to Colorado 3 times this season, hard to beat a team 3 times in a season especially one as GOOD as KST. By no means do I think Utah ST has more talent than KST just think this is a good spot! Good Luck!
