I like North Carolina. I think they are peeking at the right time. Florida showed a Kentucky weakness yesterday in that they don't get back on defense quickly. I thing Carolina can run with them and force the tempo.

Kansas wins it all over Kentucky. Kentucky in EASY conference IMO compared to Big 12. IMO if a freshman-riddled team can dominate a conference going undefeated, it shows the conference's weakness OR just how good Kentucky Really is...but that's yet to be decided until they play different teams in the NCAA Tourney.Don't get me wrong...Kentucky IS a great team...I just don't think they're challenged by conference opponents. IMO Candy is their toughest competition. Florida is just a great offense with a shitty Defense which is as bad as the likes of Georgia's D. Tennessee is really starting to play since they could focus on b-ball vs Pearl.

BUT they DO look good vs those teams and I will take them to the championship, but losing to a team they already beat EARLY in the non-conference season.

Ill take Kansas who goes 16-2 in a tougher conference and has brrn battle-tested over an undefeated team playing weaker teams.

Teams don't make it past Elite 8:
Ohio St
Missouri
Duke
Florida
Marquette

Teams that don't make it past Sweet 16:
Wisconsin

apparently you guys didnt understand my post about uconn.. i said they are one of the most TALENTED teams not a good team.. if they could all come together and play to their POTENTIAL with calhoun back  then yes i would definitely consider them a sleeper

Dude, that was like 2 possessions. Kentucky gets back on defense probably better than anyone in the country. If you look REAL deep you can maybe find a flaw on offense, but on defense they are about as flawless as an NCAA basketball team can get.

One thing I never understood was the "easy conference" angle. First of all, SEC is not the best overall, but they do have some quality teams and even some of the lower teams have knocked off teams like Marquette, MiamiFL, Clemosn, Notre Dame, etc.....and those are the SEC botoom feeders, so it isn't like the conference is just horrible. Also, I didn't see Butler too effected by their conference the last few years. How about VCU, George Mason, Xavier, etc. Not only that, but Kentucky out of conference did play NC, Kansas, Louisville and Indiana. It's not like they aren't battle tested. I do think Kansas/KY would be an interesting match-up again, but Kentucky did beat them by 10 already and they ave improved a ton since then. Kansas has improved a lot also though, so would be interesting.

e-muff, not "easy" as in bad, just IMO SEC is "easier" conference when compared to Big 12. and I really wasn't comparing bottom-feeders to bottom-feeders, but the "good" teams under Kansas compared to the "good" teams beneath Kentucky. Crap teams don't provide at test for Kansas or Kentucky.

I'm not saying Cal is a bad coach. But he is a much better salesman and recruiter than he is a coach. 

I wish Tom Izzo was as good of a recruiter as Cal is. Because if he was, Michigan State would have at least two more National Titles during his time as head coach.

You are right about  being a salesman and recruiter for sure. I just think he doesn't get the credit he deserves for being a good coach as well. I think it's overlooked because of his ability to get talent. I'm by no means saying he's the best at coaching.......just think he is very good and better then people think.

Gotcha....I would say Big 12 is better at the top, but it's not that far off. I will say I think Baylor and Missouri are a tad over-rated. I'm actually hoping Missouri ends up as Kentucky's 2 seed(if Duke doesn't). They are very good, but Kentucky would be a match-up nightmare for them size wise.

same goes for my Marquette Golden Eagles. They can run and gun, but lack size at the posts. I was at the Georgetown/Marquette game and Davante Gardner was back...well sort of. He did some good in there playing, but was gimping and dragging his left leg all over the court. it'll be nice for Marq to have him, bit it'll slow down their run and gun transition and hell be slow to get back on D

I agree Cal is a solid coach on the floor, and actually much better than Bill Self as another poster suggested.

I am a uk fan and don't wanna be a turd..... But please stop using the we have not played anyone.... We already beat the other 2 teams that will be 1 seeds in ku and unc........ And people need to pick a side on inexperience vs an experienced team.   Dent tell me Kansas and all there upper classman have improved more than all the inexperienced players at uk.   Kansas and Carolina are experienced and we beat them both in first 5 games....... Why would that change now that we have gained experience


All that said unc does match up the best against us.... But I don't think they will shoot"65% from 3 again either.

Any power conference is going to recruit solid talent, so most every D1 school has 'Talent."

Uconn has showed nothing and I mean nothing all year that they belong anywhere in a conversation about making a deep run.

IMO they should not even be in the tourny, and if they are it most likely will be one and done. If they do happen to make it to 32, I will be loading up on the opponent.

If Uconn does pull a miracle and make a run I will be back here to eat crow, but I'm very confident that won't happen.

100% agree about Big 10 being overrated.  Really, I'm from Wisconsin and watch plenty of it,...and I'd say NO BIG 10 TEAM makes it past the Sweet 16.  There I go, I said it.  Yep, NO Elite 8 for them.

Obvious choices to prove me wrong would be Michigan St and Ohio St., but I AM NOT IMPRESSED with them and would highly argue someone if they mentioned that they thought they were Final 4 teams.  I'd laugh them off the board.  NOT going to happen.

But, that's just my opinion.

your fuckin retarded.. lamb and hummond are both lottery picks.. oriakhi wouldve been last year.. boatwright and napier can both make it in the nba

they have more talent than most division 1 teams just have played together and how do you want your crow cooked?

Bold statement about the Big 10. I disagree. I think they will have at least one, but more likely 2 teams in the elite 8. Obviously the draw could change my decision but I think a lot of teams would have match up problems with the front court of MSU and OSU. If they were to draw teams like Mizzou or Marquette in the Sweet 16 it could be to their benefit. 

I also wouldn't be shocked to see the Badgers shock someone in the tourney. Bo Ryan has a way of frustrating the shit out of teams that want to play uptempo. I know they have had a down regular season but they could be dangerous in the tourney.

UNC HAD EM EARLY AT KENTUCKY FOR 80% OF THE GAME THEY WERE WINNING.

Not feeling Syracuse at all either. Kentucky is got a good chance but if you wanna crown em, then crown em, but they aint off the hook.

The conference is not that bad.... I'll take uk vandy and Florida against any 3 except maybe the big 12..... I think they have 3 best at top..... I don't care about depth cause that is not what matters because Wisconsin or Florida state or whoever you wanna say is 4 th best in any inference is not gonna win anyway

Unc shot like 65% from 3 and still lost.... Take that for what it's worth.   I do however think they match up with uk best.   As a uk fan I would rather not play unc

Take a look at St Mary's, and Gonzaga.

Those resume's are pathetic. No clue how they were able to hold the ranks they did this year. Outside of each other neither have a single quality win.

Ktrain, I was sort of going for bold. In the Big 10 I think Michigan is complete junk and Wisco isn't far off from that. Wisconsin make a run in the Big Dance?!?! That, my friend, is bold. Wisco a regular 2nd-round drop out with Bo at the reigns. He has gone to the elite 8 only once and this year's team isn't even comparable to last year's Sweet 16 appearance. Wisco will always have good D, but will never get anywhere when there Offense isn't hitting. Defense can only hold out so long.

In all honesty, without being bold,....I only see MSU having a chance at the Elite 8. That's just my opinion.
