Why the A&M love?

Can somebody please lay down a legitimate argument as to why Texas A&M is the right side to back tonight?  Last I remember Texas demolished this A&M team handily...so what makes you think this night is different?  Home court advantage?  That much a big deal? 

I'm not saying A&M is the wrong side...I'm just wondering why all the love around here.  I know all those dopey consensus sites will show a heavy consensus on Texas...but I don't buy it one bit.  No way it's that lop-sided.  Talking to friends and reading through this forum...I see mad Aggies love.

Somebody please give me some good reasons...besides that pathetic argument that this line is a "trap" because it's so low after Texas just beat them so bad.  What would you expect the line to be?  A conference game with A&M at home with revenge on their mind.  I'm actually a bit worried that Texas A&M didn't come out a 1 to 2 point favorite considering the situation.

Honestly I played a little on A & M cause everyone said so earlier but im feeling the same way as you

It has to do with the history of these two teams playing each other.  They each dominate their home court.  The last 6 times at College Station A&M has one, and CONVINCINGLY.  The average win was in the mid teens.  I think the closest Texas has come in that stretch was an 11 point loss.

Everyone is trying to make this into a let down spot, but you would have made that case after Kansas too and would have been wrong. 

I don't know, Texas is clearly the better team, but their free throw shooting in a hostile environment might finally catch them here. Feels like Texas -1 is a too good to be true line so I am betting minimally here on Texas.

Texas has lost by 15+ in each of their last 4 visits to Texas A&M

Many factors.  Yes.  Absofuckinglutely.  It is called situational handicapping.  Crushing a team in conference at home does not mean you will beat them on the road.  Lets take a look at the past week.  Weber loses by 25 at No Co.  Beats em the next game at home.  La Tech gets smoked by 25 at Idaho.  Smokes em by double digits in Reston.  La Lafayette smoked by 20 at North Texas.  Wins two weeks later at home by 5.  This goes on and on and on.  Capping isn't as simplistic as you make it sound.  These teams have split their season series 7 years in a row.  One of the best home courts in a giant in state rivalry.  Game means so much more to Tamu off a loss with revenge trying to take out in conference undefeated Texas.  See Wazu/Wash last night.  Almost identical spot

Yeah of course Texas is a public team...but don't fool yourself, there's plenty of A&M $$$ with each book out there.

It's funny...I know covers.com forum is a very small sample size...but you can just TELL when something doesn't "feel" right.  Way way too much A&M love today.  Normally...a game like this you would see so many more people loving Texas but it was clearly not the case.  Now I know this is college basketball and teams go on runs like crazy...but this is damn near over already.  Texas AM not built to come back from down double digits.  If AM had a chance to win this game THEY needed to jump out to a lead like this.

Wasn't BYU up double digits in the 2H at The Pit and ended up losing by the same margin?

hey depressed did you notice how many points BYU surrendered in that game? 90+ i believe..please tell me how TAMU can possibly make up 8 possessions with their offense.

You are spot on, however, a loss for the Aggies here, is the loss of half the support of their fans.  The fans are pissed because of their half ass attitude.  Wouldnt be surprised to see a fight (literally ) in the 2nd hlf.  Horns roll by 40+, bet them getting points in 2nd hlf.

I also had a weird "feeling" about this game after coming on Covers.  Unfortunately that feeling also stopped me from putting significant $$ on UT (I know far from over), but did include them in a 2-team parlay (still need Bucks to win).

I've said it before and I'll say it again...Covers is one of, if not the best place, to see what the public truly thinks.  Actual sharp cappers are few and far between, and I, along with the majority of Covers, aren't one of them.

any projections - 73??  If the game is a blow out - a lot of run outs but not much foul line action late  thoughts on the O/U   thx!

MrTuttle05...couldn't have said it better.  That's exactly what I use this forum for.  I don't care how many posts there are and some will argue that 50 different picks isn't a good enough sample size.  I 100% disagree and think it's a pretty darn good indicator of what the "average joe" bettor is thinking.

Like I said before the game even started...normally you would come on here and see everyone and their brother on Texas.  That just was not the case tonight.  Texas is playing some damn good ball boys...damn!
